Miro
This connector works with Miro boards through the REST API v2 (https://api.miro.com/v2): boards (find, read, create, rename, copy), items of every type (list, read, move, delete), sticky notes, shapes, text, cards and frames (create and change), connector lines, tags, and board members. It signs in with OAuth 2.0 through a Miro app of your own, as the user who authorizes it: the AI sees and changes the boards that user can.
Setup (one-time, about 5 minutes)
- Open https://miro.com/app/settings/user-profile/apps (avatar → Settings → Your apps) and click + Create new app. Miro asks for a developer team first if you have none (free; create it at https://miro.com/app/dashboard/?createDevTeam=1).
- Name the app (for example "AnythingMCP"), pick the developer team, tick Expire user authorization token and click Create app. This choice cannot be changed later; without it the token never expires, which also works but is less safe.
- On the app page, under Redirect URI for OAuth2.0, add
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/api/mcp-oauth/callbackon AnythingMCP Cloud, or<your AnythingMCP URL>/api/mcp-oauth/callbackwhen you host AnythingMCP yourself, and click Add. It must match character for character. - Under Permissions tick
boards:readandboards:write. - Copy Client ID and Client secret from App Credentials into
MIRO_CLIENT_IDandMIRO_CLIENT_SECRETand install the connector. - On the connector page click Authorize with Provider, choose the Miro team whose boards the AI should work with and click Install & authorize. To reach boards of another team, authorize again and pick that team. Access tokens last an hour and are renewed automatically; the refresh token lasts 60 days and renews with every use, so a connector unused for two months needs authorizing again.
Read-only setup: tick only boards:read, authorize again, and switch off every tool that creates, changes or deletes (miro_create_*, miro_update_*, miro_copy_board, miro_move_item, miro_delete_item, miro_delete_connector, miro_delete_tag, miro_attach_tag, miro_remove_tag_from_item). miro_delete_board, miro_share_board, miro_update_board_member and miro_remove_board_member are installed switched off.
Ids: a board id is the part after /board/ in its URL, e.g. uXjVOD6LSME= (keep the =). Item, connector, tag and user ids are long numbers: always pass them as strings, never as numbers, or they lose digits.
Positions and sizes: positions are the item's center in board units; {"x": 0, "y": 0} is the board's center, x grows to the right and y downwards. Inside a frame (parent), positions are relative to the frame's top-left corner. To lay out several notes, space them by their width plus a gap (a default sticky note is about 200 wide). Sticky notes take either a width or a height, never both. Text items take a width only.
Styles: sticky notes use named colors (light_yellow, yellow, orange, light_green, green, cyan, light_pink, pink, violet, red, light_blue, blue, dark_blue, gray, black ...); shapes, text, frames and connectors use hex colors, and their style values (font size, border width, opacity) are strings such as "14". Content accepts simple HTML such as <p>, <strong> and <a href="...">.
Reading a board: miro_list_items returns every item (filter by type or by frame with parent_item_id), miro_list_connectors the lines between them. Both page with a cursor and take 10 to 50 per page. Boards, members and tags page with offset and limit.
Tags: only cards and sticky notes can carry tags, at most 8 each. Create the tag (miro_create_tag), then miro_attach_tag; miro_list_items_by_tag finds the tagged items. Tag changes made through the API appear on an open board after a refresh.
Deleting: miro_delete_item removes any item for good (there is no undo through the API); deleting a frame leaves its contents on the board. miro_delete_tag removes the tag from every item. Confirm deletions with the user unless the AI just created the item in the same task.
Plans: the API is free to use. Free teams may hold only 3 editable boards, so miro_create_board and miro_copy_board can fail there; boards of a developer team carry a watermark.
Rate limits: Miro counts credits per user and app, 100,000 a minute: a read costs 50, most writes 100, creating or deleting boards and deleting items 500, copying a board 2,000. Over the limit Miro answers 429; wait a minute.
Errors: 401 (tokenNotProvided) means the authorization expired or was revoked: click Authorize with Provider again. 403 means a missing permission (boards:write for changes) or no access to that board. 404 is a wrong board or item id (or one passed as a number). 400 (invalidParameters) names the field, e.g. a sticky note with both width and height, a hex color on a sticky note, or a frame used as a connector end. 409 means the item changed at the same time; read it again and retry.
Out of scope here: images, documents and embeds (read only through miro_list_items), app cards, comments, mind maps, exports, and team or organization administration.
