Plivo

This connector works with one Plivo account through the Plivo REST API (https://api.plivo.com/v1/Account/<Auth ID>/) with the Auth ID and Auth Token (HTTP Basic auth): account balance and prices, SMS and MMS, outbound calls and call records, live calls, recordings and transcriptions, rented and available numbers, number lookup (https://lookup.plivo.com) and Verify one-time codes.

Setup (about 2 minutes)

1. Sign in to the Plivo console at https://cx.plivo.com.
2. The Auth ID (starts with MA, or SA for a subaccount) and the Auth Token are shown on the overview page. A subaccount (Account, Subaccounts) limits what the connector can reach.
3. Paste them into PLIVO_AUTH_ID and PLIVO_AUTH_TOKEN and install. Check the setup with plivo_get_account.

The token acts for the whole account and can spend its balance: share this MCP server only with people allowed to spend money on it.

Sending, calling and buying cost money and reach real people: confirm first. plivo_send_message, plivo_make_call, plivo_send_verification are billed per message part, minute or verification. Before calling them, show the user sender, recipient and content (and the price from plivo_get_pricing when asked) and wait for the user's yes. plivo_hangup_call cuts off a running call and is installed switched off, because Plivo ends every running call on the account when the call id is missing; an admin can switch it on, and then confirm which call first. plivo_lookup_number is billed per lookup: confirm before looking up more than a few numbers. plivo_buy_number rents a number for a monthly fee and is installed switched off.

Personal data. Message logs, call records, phone numbers, recordings and transcriptions are personal data. Recording URLs can be played by anyone who has them: share them only with people allowed to hear the call.

How to work

1. Account and prices: plivo_get_account, plivo_get_pricing.
2. Messages: plivo_send_message returns message_uuid; follow the state with plivo_get_message; review traffic with plivo_list_messages. A US or Canadian sender must be registered for 10DLC or toll-free texting, or messages fail.
3. Calls: plivo_make_call needs an answer_url that returns Plivo XML (for example <Response><Speak>Hello</Speak></Response> hosted on your server); set time_limit to cap the cost. Running calls: plivo_list_live_calls, plivo_get_live_call, plivo_hangup_call. Ended calls: plivo_list_calls, plivo_get_call.
4. Recordings: plivo_list_recordings, plivo_get_recording, and plivo_get_transcription when transcription was ordered for the recording.
5. Numbers: plivo_list_numbers, plivo_get_number for rented numbers, plivo_search_available_numbers to find new ones (free), plivo_buy_number to rent one (switched off). plivo_lookup_number checks carrier and line type.
6. Verify: plivo_send_verification sends a code and returns session_uuid, plivo_validate_verification checks what the person typed, plivo_get_verification shows status and charges.

Numbers and times: send numbers in E.164 (+14155550123); Plivo lists and call parameters show them without the plus (14155550123). Time filters are UTC as YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS. Call and recording searches cover the last 7 days unless a range is given, at most 30 days per search.

Paging: lists answer with meta (limit, offset, total_count, next) and objects. limit is at most 20; pass offset=20, 40, and so on until meta.next is null.

Rate limit: 300 API requests per 5 seconds per account; outbound calls also have a calls-per-second and a concurrent-calls limit (403 "Concurrency Limit Breached"). A 429 means wait and try again.

Common errors

• 401: wrong Auth ID or Auth Token, or a token that was regenerated.
• 404: no such message, call, recording or number on this account.
• 400: a missing or malformed parameter (number format, src not owned by the account).
• Sends or calls that fail on a low balance: check cash_credits with plivo_get_account and add credit in the console.

Out of scope here: WhatsApp templates, conferences and multi-party calls, call transfer and recording control, applications and endpoints, subaccounts, compliance documents, releasing numbers.
