French Company Data

French Company Data (SIRENE, BODACC, BALO)

This connector answers questions about French companies from official open data, with no account and no API key:

• Company register from the French government's API Recherche d'entreprises (the data behind annuaire-entreprises.data.gouv.fr: INSEE SIRENE plus the national company register RNE): identity, legal form, activity, size, head office and establishments, officers, VAT number, latest revenue, labels.
• BODACC (Bulletin officiel des annonces civiles et commerciales, published by DILA): every legal notice since 2008, including insolvency proceedings, business sales, registrations, changes, deregistrations and filed accounts.
• BALO (Bulletin des annonces légales obligatoires): notices of listed companies and other issuers.
• Financial ratios published by the Ministry of the Economy (DGE) from the accounts filed with INPI.

Setup: nothing to configure. Install and run fr_company_data_get with a SIREN to try it.

Identifiers: a SIREN has 9 digits and identifies the company; a SIRET has 14 digits (SIREN + 5) and identifies one establishment. The NAF/APE code (e.g. 62.01Z) is the main activity.

Workflow

• Identify the company: fr_company_data_search by name (plus code_postal, departement or activite_principale to narrow it down) or fr_company_data_get with a SIREN or SIRET. fr_company_data_search also finds the companies of an officer (nom_personne, prenoms_personne) and lists companies by activity, place, size or revenue for prospecting. fr_company_data_near_point finds companies around coordinates.
• Check its history and health: fr_company_data_bodacc_announcements with the SIREN; family collective shows insolvency proceedings (sauvegarde, redressement, liquidation judiciaire), vente business sales, modification changes of officers, capital or address, dpc filed accounts. fr_company_data_financial_ratios gives revenue, margins and ratios per year; fr_company_data_balo_announcements covers listed companies.
• Watch a market: fr_company_data_bodacc_search with family, department and dates (e.g. all new liquidations in department 69 since Monday), or text for a name.

Reading the data

• Codes in the register: etat_administratif A active, C ceased; categorie_entreprise PME, ETI or GE; tranche_effectif_salarie is an INSEE headcount band (e.g. 11 = 10-19 employees, NN = none declared); nature_juridique is the INSEE legal form code (5710 SAS, 5499 SARL, 5599 SA, 1000 sole trader). finances holds the latest published year only.
• In BODACC, registre holds the SIREN with and without spaces, familleavis_lib names the kind of notice, and the details (jugement, acte, listepersonnes, modificationsgenerales, depot) are JSON text inside the record: read them as JSON. url_complete links the notice on bodacc.fr.
• In the ratios, there can be several rows for one closing date with different type_bilan (C full, S simplified, K consolidated); compare like with like. Amounts are euros.
• Personal data: officers' names and birth month are public register data. Use them for business purposes only, as French data protection law requires.

Limits: the company register allows 7 requests per second; over that it answers 429 (wait a second). fr_company_data_search returns at most 25 results per page and 10,000 in total; BODACC, BALO and the ratios return at most 100 per page and 10,000 in total (offset + limit). A query of fewer than 3 characters without a filter answers 400.
