Zalando Partner (ZDS)

Partner onboarding required. Zalando's merchant APIs are not open: you need an active Zalando Partner Programme contract and credentials issued through Zalando zDirect. There is no self-service signup. Zalando runs a sandbox at https://api-sandbox.merchants.zalando.com, but it too is only reachable with zDirect credentials.

Setup

1. In the zDirect Portal open Applications, create or pick an app and copy its client id and client secret (under Credentials). Give the app the orders/read scope.
2. Note your merchant id — a UUID that scopes every path. Zalando merchants often have several (one per sales channel or country), and the wrong one returns an empty, entirely convincing result.
3. Set ZALANDO_CLIENT_ID, ZALANDO_CLIENT_SECRET and ZALANDO_MERCHANT_ID.

Client credentials, scoped per API. The adapter calls the production API at https://api.merchants.zalando.com and gets its token from https://api.merchants.zalando.com/auth/token (client id and secret as HTTP Basic). The scopes granted to your app determine which paths answer: a 403 usually means a missing scope rather than a bad secret.

Read-only, orders only. Zalando's Stocks and Prices APIs are write-only (there is no endpoint to read back stock or prices), so this adapter does not offer them. Shipments exist per order: call zalando_zds_list_shipments with an order id.

Responses are JSON:API (application/vnd.api+json): rows under data, related records under included when you ask for them with include.

Paging differs per endpoint. Orders are paged by number: page_size (1-1000, default 50) and a zero-based page_number. Announced returns are cursor-paged: pass back the cursor from the previous response's next link.

Dates are ISO 8601, e.g. 2026-09-01T00:00:00Z. The order date filters are exclusive.

Unverified against a live account. Paths and parameter names follow Zalando's published OpenAPI specifications and the production host answers on them, but no tool has been run with real credentials. A correction from anyone running this against a real system is genuinely welcome.
