Autotask PSA + Claude
Autotask PSA by Datto (Kaseya): query companies, contacts, tickets and notes, time entries, projects and tasks, resources, contracts and configuration items; create and update tickets, add notes and log time. Autotask REST API.
Prerequisites
See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:
AUTOTASK_ZONE_HOST, AUTOTASK_USERNAME, AUTOTASK_SECRET, AUTOTASK_INTEGRATION_CODE
Step 1 — Get credentials
The connector uses the Autotask PSA REST API. It needs an API-only resource, which only an Autotask administrator can create.
- In Autotask open Admin → Resources/Users → New API User and give the resource the API User (API-only) security level.
- On its Security tab, under API Tracking Identifier, pick your integration vendor or let Autotask generate a custom (internal integration) identifier. Copy it into
AUTOTASK_INTEGRATION_CODE. - Copy the API user's username (an email-like value) into
AUTOTASK_USERNAMEand the generated secret intoAUTOTASK_SECRET. The secret is shown in full only when it is generated. - Open
https://webservices.autotask.net/atservicesrest/v1.0/zoneInformation?user=<API username>in a browser and copy the host from theurlfield intoAUTOTASK_ZONE_HOST, for examplewebservices5.autotask.net: host only, withouthttps://and without a path. A wrong zone answers 500 or 401 even with correct credentials. - Start with
autotask_query_companies, thenautotask_query_ticketswithcompanyID. Status, priority and queue are numeric ids that differ per database: read them withautotask_get_entity_fields(for example entityTickets) before filtering or writing them.
A query returns at most 500 records; Autotask allows 10,000 requests per hour per database, so use autotask_count_tickets for counts. Creating and updating tickets, adding notes and logging time change data and can trigger customer notifications through workflow rules. Nothing is deleted by this connector.
Step 2 — Install the adapter
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
Step 3 — Add the connector in Claude
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Recommended path — works on claude.ai web without editing any config file.
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors.
- Click +, then Add custom connector.
- Enter a name, e.g.
Autotask PSA, and the remote MCP server URLhttps://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID, then click Add. - Click Connect and sign in to AnythingMCP (OAuth) to allow access.
