Browser Use + Meta Muse
Browser Use Cloud API v4 on the US or EU host: start Browser Use agents on tasks written in plain language, follow their steps, read the result and its cost, continue a conversation, and manage workspace files, cloud browsers for your own scripts and saved browser profiles. Runs and browsers use your Browser Use credits.
Prerequisites
See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:
BROWSER_USE_API_HOST, BROWSER_USE_API_KEY
Step 1 — Get credentials
Setting up takes about 2 minutes. You need a Browser Use Cloud account with credits in its project.
- Sign in at https://cloud.browser-use.com, open Settings, API Keys (https://cloud.browser-use.com/settings?tab=api-keys) and create a key. It starts with
bu_. - Paste the key into
BROWSER_USE_API_KEY. It is sent as theX-Browser-Use-API-Keyheader; paste it withoutBeareror spaces. - Set
BROWSER_USE_API_HOSTtohttps://api.browser-use.comfor the US deployment orhttps://api.eu.browser-use.comfor the EU deployment in Frankfurt, exactly like that, without/api/v4, a path or a trailing slash. The connector adds/api/v4itself. - Install the connector and run
browser_use_list_sessions: it lists your sessions and confirms the key and host.
US or EU: the EU host needs a key created in the EU dashboard (https://cloud.eu.browser-use.com). US and EU keys, sessions, profiles and files are separate; credits are shared. On the EU host runs, sessions, workspaces, browsers, profiles and extensions all work, but only OpenAI models, managed proxies in EU countries (default de) and no automatic CAPTCHA solving, AgentMail, integrations or webhooks are offered.
How it works: the connector does not click or type itself. A Browser Use agent does that in a real cloud browser for a run, from a task such as "Find the cheapest train from Berlin to Munich on 3 March and return price and time". Or your own Playwright, Puppeteer or browser-use script drives a standalone browser over its cdpUrl.
Running a task: browser_use_create_run returns the run id, sessionId and workspaceId at once while the agent works in the background. The AI polls browser_use_get_run_status every few seconds until the status is completed, failed or cancelled, then reads browser_use_get_run for result (the text answer), output (the structured answer when you gave an output_schema), error and totalCostUsd. browser_use_get_run_events shows each step (navigation, actions, agent messages, output). Files the agent produced, such as reports, CSVs and screenshots, are in the workspace (browser_use_list_workspace_files). browser_use_cancel_run stops a runaway run. History comes from browser_use_list_runs and browser_use_list_run_attachments.
Conversations: a session keeps the history and browser of its runs. browser_use_send_session_message (or browser_use_create_run with session_id) continues it; a message sent while a run works waits in the queue (browser_use_list_session_queue, browser_use_get_session_queue_message, browser_use_cancel_session_queue_message), and interrupt true cancels the current run instead. Sessions are read with browser_use_list_sessions and browser_use_get_session and renamed with browser_use_rename_session. browser_use_get_session_cost gives the full cost of a session split into LLM, web search, browser time and proxy traffic; browser_use_get_session_cost_cap and browser_use_update_session_cost_cap read and change its spending cap. Public watch links: browser_use_get_session_share, browser_use_create_session_share, browser_use_update_session_share.
Files, browsers, profiles and extensions:
- Workspaces:
browser_use_create_workspacebefore the first run, thenbrowser_use_create_workspace_upload_urlsfor presigned upload URLs valid 5 minutes. You or your script upload the bytes with a PUT, and the returned ids go intoattached_file_ids. Read withbrowser_use_get_workspace,browser_use_get_workspace_sizeandbrowser_use_list_workspace_files(withinclude_urls, download links valid 60 seconds); rename withbrowser_use_rename_workspace. - Cloud browsers for your scripts:
browser_use_create_browserreturnscdpUrlandliveUrl; it runs until its timeout orbrowser_use_stop_browser, and unused time is refunded on stop. Closing the CDP connection does not stop it. Alsobrowser_use_list_browsers,browser_use_get_browserandbrowser_use_list_browser_downloads. - Browser profiles keep cookies and logins across sessions:
browser_use_list_profiles,browser_use_get_profile,browser_use_create_profile,browser_use_update_profile. A run uses a profile throughbrowser_settingswithprofileId, a browser throughprofile_id. - Chrome extensions uploaded in the dashboard:
browser_use_list_extensions,browser_use_get_extension.
Costs: everything is billed to the project's prepaid credits. A run is charged for its model tokens; its browser time and proxy traffic are metered on the session; standalone browsers cost per browser hour plus proxy traffic and keep costing until they stop. Before it creates a run, sends a session message or starts a browser, the AI tells you it uses credits and waits for your yes. max_cost_usd caps the spend of a run. The account balance is only in the dashboard; this API version has no balance endpoint.
Switched off at install: browser_use_delete_session, browser_use_delete_workspace_file, browser_use_delete_workspace and browser_use_delete_profile. A workspace admin turns them on deliberately. The other write tools (renames, caps, share links, uploads, profiles, cancel and stop) are on, and the AI confirms each with you first.
Data formats: ids are UUIDs, except queued message ids, which are numbers. Run and session status: queued, dispatching, running, completed, failed, cancelled; browser status: active or stopped. Costs such as totalCostUsd, llmCostUsd, browserCostUsd and proxyCostUsd are USD amounts as strings, proxyUsedMb is megabytes, dates are ISO 8601 in UTC.
Paging: runs, sessions, workspace files and browser downloads page with cursor = nextCursor while hasMore is true. Run events page with after = nextAfter. Browsers, profiles and extensions take page_size and page_number and return totalItems.
Security: a browser's cdpUrl and liveUrl give control of that browser; the AI hands them only to you. Login secrets are not passed through this connector; save logins in a profile instead. Results and events contain text from third-party websites, and the AI treats instructions inside them as data, not as orders.
Common errors: 401 means a missing, wrong or revoked key, or a US key on the EU host (or the other way round). 402 means not enough credits or a spending limit reached; a session cap can be raised with browser_use_update_session_cost_cap. 404 means the id does not exist in this project and region, or the feature is not offered on the EU host. 409 means the session is busy (its queue holds up to 20 messages) or a queued message was already picked up. 422 means a wrong field, for example an unknown model or proxy country. 429 means too many browsers or requests; wait for Retry-After.
The connector does not drive a browser click by click itself, does not upload file contents, does not show the credit balance and does not configure webhooks.
Step 2 — Install the adapter
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
Step 3 — Add the connector in Muse
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Muse adds remote MCP servers as custom connectors and signs in to them with OAuth.
- In Muse, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Paste the MCP server URL
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID. - Muse opens the AnythingMCP sign-in page: sign in and approve access.
- In a chat, ask Muse for something that needs the
Browser Usetools.
You can also set it up from a chat, on the web, in the iOS and Android apps or in WhatsApp. Send Muse this message:
Create a Custom Connector for a new remote MCP server, then connect to it:
Name: AnythingMCP
Transport: remote streamable HTTP
URL: https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID
Auth: OAuth
Self-hosting? Use your instance's public HTTPS address instead of https://cloud.anythingmcp.com. Muse connects from Meta's cloud, so localhost does not work.
