Cloudinary + Meta Muse
Upload images and videos to Cloudinary and get a public URL, search and organize your media library, generate AI images and build transformations from Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot through Cloudinary's official MCP server.
Prerequisites
See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:
(none: you sign in with Cloudinary after installing)
Step 1 — Sign in with Cloudinary
Cloudinary runs its own official remote MCP server for the media library, the Asset Management MCP server at https://asset-management.mcp.cloudinary.com/mcp. This connector bridges it: the tools are Cloudinary's, and AnythingMCP puts them behind your AnythingMCP server with OAuth for Claude and ChatGPT, per-tool roles and the audit log.
- Install the connector. There is nothing to paste: no API key, client ID or secret.
- On the connector page click Authorize with Provider. AnythingMCP registers itself with Cloudinary and sends you to the Cloudinary sign-in. There is no redirect URI to set up.
- Sign in, choose the product environment (cloud) the AI should use and approve. Back in AnythingMCP the tool list is reloaded from Cloudinary's server. Cloudinary adds tools over time: Discover tools on the connector picks up new ones.
- To check it works, run
cloudinary_get_usage_details. It shows credits, storage and bandwidth against your plan.
What it is for: many APIs only take a file by public URL; Instagram and Facebook publishing, for example. cloudinary_upload_asset takes a public URL, a Base64 data URI or a private S3 or Google Cloud Storage path and returns secure_url, an HTTPS link anyone can fetch. Instagram wants JPEG, so links for it use f_jpg rather than f_auto.
Whose access it is: the person who signs in is the Cloudinary user for everyone who uses this connector, in the product environment picked at sign-in. For a shared connector, sign in with a Cloudinary user whose role only covers what the AI should do. To switch environments, click Authorize with Provider again and pick another one.
Public by default: a file uploaded with the default delivery type upload is public to anyone who has its URL. For confidential files, set type to authenticated or private, or use access_control; those links then need a signature and are no use to an API that fetches by URL.
Switched off at install: cloudinary_delete_asset, cloudinary_delete_derived_assets, cloudinary_delete_folder and cloudinary_delete_asset_relations. Uploads, renames, tag and metadata changes stay on. cloudinary_asset_rename changes an asset's URL, so links already handed out stop working.
Plan: the free Cloudinary plan works. AI images (cloudinary_generate_image, cloudinary_generate_image_from_images) need the Image Generation add-on and use credits. The AI cannot read files on your computer; cloudinary_sign_upload returns signed parameters for posting such a file straight to Cloudinary.
Without sign-in: Cloudinary's server also accepts the API key. In the connector's settings switch authentication to API key, set the header name to cloudinary-url and paste the API environment variable from Settings, API Keys in the Cloudinary Console (cloudinary://<api_key>:<api_secret>@<cloud_name>).
Cloudinary's other MCP servers, for environment configuration (upload presets, named transformations, webhooks), structured metadata and media analysis, are not part of this connector; add them as custom MCP connectors if you need them.
Step 2 — Install the adapter
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
Step 3 — Add the connector in Muse
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Muse adds remote MCP servers as custom connectors and signs in to them with OAuth.
- In Muse, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Paste the MCP server URL
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID. - Muse opens the AnythingMCP sign-in page: sign in and approve access.
- In a chat, ask Muse for something that needs the
Cloudinarytools.
You can also set it up from a chat, on the web, in the iOS and Android apps or in WhatsApp. Send Muse this message:
Create a Custom Connector for a new remote MCP server, then connect to it:
Name: AnythingMCP
Transport: remote streamable HTTP
URL: https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID
Auth: OAuth
Self-hosting? Use your instance's public HTTPS address instead of https://cloud.anythingmcp.com. Muse connects from Meta's cloud, so localhost does not work.

FAQ
Where is Muse available? Meta currently offers Muse in the US and Canada, on the web, in the iOS and Android apps and in WhatsApp.
Does Meta review this connector? No. Meta doesn't review custom connectors. Muse sees only the tools you switched on for this MCP server in AnythingMCP, and you can disconnect it anytime under Settings → Connectors.
