CoinGlass + Microsoft Copilot
Crypto derivatives data from CoinGlass: futures open interest across exchanges, funding rates, long/short ratios, liquidations, options max pain, spot bitcoin and ether ETF flows, stablecoin market cap, Coinbase premium and the Fear & Greed Index. Read-only; needs a paid CoinGlass API plan.
Prerequisites
See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:
COINGLASS_API_KEY
Step 1 — Get credentials
Setting up takes about 2 minutes. You need a CoinGlass account with a paid API plan (Hobbyist or higher).
- Choose an API plan at https://www.coinglass.com/pricing.
- Open the API Key page of your account (https://www.coinglass.com/account) and copy the key into
COINGLASS_API_KEY. It is sent in theCG-API-KEYheader. - Install the connector and run
coinglass_get_account_subscription: it shows the plan level (HOBBYIST, STARTUP, STANDARD, PROFESSIONAL), its expiry time and whether it has expired, and confirms the key.
Coin or pair: some tools work on a coin across all exchanges, others on one pair on one exchange. Coin-level tools take a coin as symbol (BTC, ETH); coinglass_list_supported_coins lists them. Pair-level tools take an exchange spelled as coinglass_list_supported_exchanges returns it (Binance, OKX, Bybit) and a pair as symbol (BTCUSDT); coinglass_list_exchange_pairs lists the pairs of an exchange.
What it reads:
- Open interest of a coin aggregated across exchanges, the current open interest per exchange (USD value, quantity, stablecoin- and coin-margined, change from 5 minutes to 24 hours), and open interest candles of one pair.
- Funding rates: candles of one perpetual pair, the open-interest-weighted rate of a coin across exchanges, and the current rate of every coin on every exchange with the funding interval and the next funding time.
- Long/short ratios of one pair on one exchange: all trader accounts (Binance, OKX, Gate, HTX, Bybit), top trader accounts and top trader positions.
- Liquidations: long and short liquidations in USD per interval, for one pair or summed for a coin over the exchanges you name.
- A market snapshot of every futures pair of a coin (price, index price, 24 hour change, volume, open interest, funding rate, 24 hour liquidations) and price candles of one pair.
- Options max pain per expiry for a coin on one options exchange (Deribit, Binance, OKX), with call and put open interest and their market value.
- Spot ETFs: daily net flows of the US spot bitcoin and ether ETFs, in total and per fund (IBIT, FBTC, ETHA, ...), since launch, and the list of spot bitcoin ETFs with assets under management, fee, BTC holdings, net asset value and premium or discount.
- Indicators: the stablecoin market cap and the Crypto Fear & Greed Index (0 extreme fear to 100 extreme greed) over time, both with the BTC price alongside, and the Coinbase premium index (BTC on Coinbase in USD against Binance in USDT).
Intervals and history: history tools take interval (1m up to 1w), limit (up to 1000 points, newest last) and optionally start_time / end_time in Unix milliseconds. The AI asks only for what the question needs, for example interval: 1d with limit: 30 for a month of daily points.
Data formats: returned time values are Unix milliseconds, except the Coinbase premium, stablecoin market cap and Fear & Greed lists, which use seconds. Funding rates are in percent per funding interval (0.01 means 0.01%). The Coinbase premium_rate is a fraction (0.0261 = 2.61%). Open interest is in USD unless unit: coin is asked for. ETF flows are in USD; positive means inflow.
Read-only: every tool only reads, so there is nothing to confirm and no tool is switched off at install.
Limits: requests per minute depend on the plan: Hobbyist 30, Startup 80, Standard 300, Professional 1200. Hobbyist allows only intervals of 4h and longer, Startup 30m and longer, Standard and up any interval. How far back each interval reaches also grows with the plan; daily data goes back to the start on every plan.
Common errors: CoinGlass answers HTTP 200 with a code other than "0" when something is wrong. 401 or "Invalid API key" means a missing or wrong key; 429 means the per-minute limit is used up; 400 means a wrong parameter or a call your plan does not include, such as an interval that is too short. In that case the AI switches to a longer interval instead of retrying.
The connector does not place orders, connect to exchange accounts or read your own positions; it reads CoinGlass market data only.
Step 2 — Install the adapter
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
Step 3 — Add the connector in Microsoft Copilot
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Microsoft Copilot uses MCP servers through agents built in Copilot Studio: you add AnythingMCP to an agent as a tool, then publish the agent to Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams. Copilot Studio connects from Microsoft's cloud over Streamable HTTP, which AnythingMCP supports.
- In Copilot Studio, open your agent (or create one), go to Tools and choose Add a tool → New tool → Model Context Protocol.
- Enter a Server name (for example
AnythingMCP), a Server description that says what the connector does, and the Server URLhttps://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID. Copilot Studio uses the description to decide when to call the server. - Under authentication, choose API key, set Type to Header and the header name to
X-API-Key, then select Create. - In Add tool, choose Create a new connection, paste an MCP API key from AnythingMCP (MCP Servers → your server → API keys) and select Add to agent.
- Try it in the agent's Test pane: ask for something that needs the
CoinGlasstools. - Select Publish, then Channels → Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams, keep Make agent available in Microsoft Copilot selected and choose Add channel. See agent in Teams installs it for you; in Microsoft 365 Copilot, type @ and pick the agent.
Prefer per-user sign-in? Choose OAuth 2.0 → Dynamic discovery instead of an API key: each user then signs in to AnythingMCP the first time the agent calls it.
Self-hosting? Use your instance's public HTTPS address instead of https://cloud.anythingmcp.com. Copilot Studio connects from Microsoft's cloud, so localhost does not work.

FAQ
Which Copilot is this for? Microsoft 365 Copilot at work, through agents built in Copilot Studio. The Microsoft Copilot app for personal accounts has no option to add your own MCP server.
What do I need? A work account with access to Copilot Studio (a license or a trial) to build the agent. People who use it in Microsoft 365 Copilot or Teams need access to the agent: share it with them, or ask an admin to publish it to the organization. If your organization applies data policies to Power Platform connectors, they cover MCP servers too.
The agent doesn't call the tools. Check that the header name is exactly X-API-Key and that the key belongs to the same MCP server as the URL, and make the server description specific: Copilot Studio uses it to decide when to call the server. Publish the agent again after each change; in an open chat, type "start over" to get the new version.
