Prerequisites
See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:
DAFTRA_SUBDOMAIN, DAFTRA_API_KEY
Step 1 — Get credentials
- Sign in to Daftra as an administrator.
- Open Settings > API > API Keys and click Generate API key. Give it a name such as AnythingMCP.
- Paste the key into
DAFTRA_API_KEYand the first part of your Daftra address intoDAFTRA_SUBDOMAIN: foracme.daftra.com, enteracme. Then install the connector. - Start with
daftra_list_stores: it lists your warehouses and shows that the key works.
The key is sent only to your own Daftra account and acts with that account's permissions.
What it covers: sales invoices, credit notes and refund receipts, payments against invoices, clients and suppliers, products, product categories and stock movements, purchase invoices, expenses, treasuries (cash boxes, bank accounts and wallets) and the general ledger with journal entries and the chart of accounts.
Confirm first: invoices, payments, expenses, journal entries, purchases, refunds and stock movements post to your ledger and your stock. Before any write, the AI describes the change and waits for your yes. A new invoice can be kept as a draft, and recording a payment only notes money you have already received: it does not charge anyone. The three delete tools (daftra_delete_invoice, daftra_delete_invoice_payment and daftra_delete_expense) are switched off at install.
Ids, dates and amounts: every tool works with Daftra's internal id, not the printed number (an invoice no such as 000123); the AI finds the id with the list tools. Warehouses, treasuries and posting accounts come from daftra_list_stores, daftra_list_treasuries and daftra_list_journal_accounts. Dates are YYYY-MM-DD, amounts are in the document currency, and a manual journal entry must balance: total debit equals total credit. When the AI changes the lines of a purchase invoice, it sends all of them, because lines left out may be removed.
Common errors: 401 or 403 means the API key is wrong, deleted or lacks permission: generate a new one under Settings > API > API Keys. 404 on every call means the subdomain is wrong: it is the part before .daftra.com in the address you sign in at. 400 or 422: a required field is missing or an id does not exist, and the message names it.
Cloud and self-hosted: both call your account's own daftra.com subdomain over the internet; nothing else differs.
The connector does not cover estimates, incomes and taxes (Daftra's API key cannot reach them), work orders, appointments, staff, time tracking, notes or attachments.

Step 3 — Add the connector in ChatGPT
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
ChatGPT adds MCP servers as plugins on its Plugins page, on the web and on paid plans. Developer mode is no longer needed. In a Business workspace only admins and owners can add one; in Enterprise and Edu an admin can grant the Create plugins with MCPs permission.
- Go to chatgpt.com/plugins, click +, then Add custom MCP server.
- Enter a name, e.g. Name:
Daftra. - Under Connection, enter the Server URL
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_IDand keep Authentication on OAuth. - Select I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin. When ChatGPT asks, sign in to AnythingMCP and allow access.
