How to Connect Dialpad to Meta Muse via MCP

Let your AI work with Dialpad: look up users, offices and call centers, review calls, recordings and Dialpad Ai transcripts, check queues live, start calls, send text messages, manage contacts and export call statistics.

Prerequisites

See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:

Step 1 — Get credentials

1. Sign in to Dialpad as a company admin and open Admin Settings. API keys need a Dialpad Pro or Enterprise plan.
2. Under My Company, open Authentication → API Keys and click Add key. Name it, choose when it expires and tick the additional scope calls:list, which the call history needs. If recording links stay empty later, add recordings_export as well.
3. Save and copy the key: Dialpad shows it only once. Paste it into DIALPAD_API_KEY exactly as shown, without a Bearer prefix, and install the connector.
4. Check the setup with dialpad_list_offices and dialpad_get_company.

Who sees what: a company admin key reaches every user, call and contact of the company. Share the MCP server only with people allowed to see them. Keys of non-admins get a 403 from dialpad_get_company, dialpad_list_numbers and dialpad_list_calls. The Dialpad sandbox is not supported. Calls, recordings, voicemails, transcripts and statistics exports are personal data of callers and staff, so the AI reads only what you ask for.

Reaches real people and can cost money, so the AI asks first: dialpad_initiate_call rings all of a user's devices and dials the number when the user picks up; dialpad_send_sms texts up to 10 numbers on behalf of a user. International and premium destinations are billed on top of your plan, and US recipients must have agreed to receive texts. Before either, the AI shows you who calls or texts whom, with which number and what text, and waits for your yes. dialpad_create_contact also waits for your yes, and so does dialpad_create_recording_share_link: a public link lets anyone who has it listen, so the AI asks which privacy you want (owner, company, admin or public).

Calls and Dialpad Ai: dialpad_list_calls lists ended calls, newest first, filtered by time (Unix milliseconds) and by one user, office, department or call center. dialpad_get_call adds the recording details, share links and the transcription text, but Dialpad allows it only 10 times a minute. dialpad_get_call_transcript reads the Dialpad Ai transcript with its Ai moments, such as action items and questions; dialpad_get_call_transcript_url gives the link to the call review page in Dialpad. Calls on lines without Dialpad Ai have no transcript (404). Dialpad Ai recaps (call summaries) are delivered only through webhooks, so this connector cannot read them.

Queues and statistics: dialpad_get_call_center_status shows a queue live, with operators on duty, calls waiting and the longest current wait. dialpad_start_stats_export starts a CSV export of calls, texts, voicemails, recordings, on-duty time, CSAT or dispositions for the company, an office or one target; the AI checks dialpad_get_stats_export until it is complete and gives you the download link. The file can contain phone numbers.

Rate limits apply per company and per endpoint: most reads 1200 per minute, dialpad_get_call 10 per minute, dialpad_initiate_call 5 per minute, dialpad_send_sms 100 per minute (800 on higher tiers), creating contacts 100 per minute and statistics exports 200 per hour. A 429 means waiting and trying again.

Common errors: 401: the key is wrong, deleted or was pasted with a Bearer prefix. 403: the key was not created by a company admin, cannot reach this office, or lacks the calls:list scope for the call list. 404: no such id, or no transcript for that call. 400 on a text: a number is not in E.164 format (+4930123456) or the user may not send from that number.

The connector does not cover hanging up or transferring live calls, changing users, offices, numbers or routing, webhooks and event subscriptions, meetings, or faxes.

Step 2 — Install the adapter

Step 3 — Add the connector in Muse

Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide shows YOUR_SERVER_ID.

Muse adds remote MCP servers as custom connectors and signs in to them with OAuth.

1. In Muse, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
2. Paste the MCP server URL https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID.
3. Muse opens the AnythingMCP sign-in page: sign in and approve access.
4. In a chat, ask Muse for something that needs the Dialpad tools.

Where is Muse available? Meta currently offers Muse in the US and Canada, on the web, in the iOS and Android apps and in WhatsApp.

Does Meta review this connector? No. Meta doesn't review custom connectors. Muse sees only the tools you switched on for this MCP server in AnythingMCP, and you can disconnect it anytime under Settings → Connectors.
