Dropbox + Cursor
Manage Dropbox (file storage: list, download, upload, move, copy, delete, search, share, metadata) from any AI agent. 10 tools, OAuth2 token.
Prerequisites
See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:
DROPBOX_CLIENT_ID, DROPBOX_CLIENT_SECRET, DROPBOX_REFRESH_TOKEN
Step 1 — Get credentials
This connector wraps the Dropbox API v2 (api.dropboxapi.com).
Setup — OAuth2:
- Register at https://www.dropbox.com/developers/apps → Create app → 'Scoped access' → 'App folder' or 'Full Dropbox' depending on need.
- Add the scopes you need (files.metadata.read, files.content.read, files.content.write, sharing.write, ...).
- Generate a Refresh token via OAuth flow with
token_access_type=offline. - Set
DROPBOX_CLIENT_ID,DROPBOX_CLIENT_SECRET,DROPBOX_REFRESH_TOKEN.
Authentication: OAuth2 refresh handled by engine. Sends Authorization: Bearer ACCESS_TOKEN.
…(continued in the in-app connector instructions)
Step 2 — Install the adapter
git clone https://github.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp.git
cd anythingmcp && docker compose up -d
Step 3 — Add the connector in Cursor
Cursor reads MCP servers from ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Add this entry:
{
"mcpServers": {
"anythingmcp": {
"url": "https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_MCP_API_KEY" }
}
}
}
- Get your MCP API key from AnythingMCP → Profile → MCP API Keys → New Key.
- Save the file and restart Cursor.
- Open Cursor → Settings → MCP to verify
Dropboxis listed and "Connected". - Start chatting — all
Dropboxtools are now invokable.
