easybill + Meta Muse
Let your AI work with your easybill account: find customers and create new ones, list invoices, credit notes, offers, reminders and delivery notes by customer, date or payment status, read line items and totals, fetch document PDFs and look up your product catalog. With an API key from your easybill profile.
Prerequisites
See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:
EASYBILL_API_KEY
Step 1 — Get credentials
- Sign in to easybill, click your user icon at the top right and choose Profil und Einstellungen (profile and settings; easybill's interface is in German).
- In the window that opens, go to the API key section, click Neuen Schlüssel generieren (generate new key) and then Speichern (save) at the top right. If you see no API key section, contact easybill support to have API access enabled for your account.
- Copy the key into
EASYBILL_API_KEY. The connector sends it as a Bearer token tohttps://api.easybill.de/rest/v1; there is no URL, account ID or other setting to fill in. - Install the connector. There is no Authorize with Provider step: the key is all it needs, and AnythingMCP stores it encrypted.
- Start with
easybill_list_customersand a smalllimitsuch as 5 to check that the key reaches the right easybill account.
One tool for every document type: invoices, credit notes, offers, payment reminders and delivery notes all come from easybill_list_documents, filtered by type (INVOICE, CREDIT, OFFER, REMINDER, DELIVERY, several separated by commas). It also filters by customer_id, by document_date (a single YYYY-MM-DD or a range such as 2026-01-01,2026-03-31) and by paid_at, where the value null returns only unpaid documents. easybill_get_document reads one document with its line items, VAT per line (vat_percent), totals and payment status, and easybill_get_document_pdf returns the finished PDF, base64-encoded in the pdf field.
IDs and numbers: easybill gives every customer and document a numeric id next to the number you see in the interface (customer number, invoice number). easybill_get_customer, easybill_get_document, easybill_get_document_pdf and the customer_id filter expect the id, so the AI first looks it up with a list tool. easybill_list_customers searches by company_name, last_name, emails, customer number and country (an ISO code such as DE).
Creating customers: easybill_create_customer is the only tool that writes. It needs at least a company_name or a last_name and also takes first_name, the address, emails and the VAT ID in vat_identifier. Ask the AI to show you the data before it creates the customer, so you don't end up with duplicates.
Permissions and read-only setup: for an AI that only reads, disable easybill_create_customer on the connector page. The other six tools only read customers, documents, PDFs and your product catalog (easybill_list_positions, with article number, description, unit price and VAT rate).
Long lists: list tools return 100 rows per page by default and up to 1000 with limit. The response carries page, pages and total, and the AI moves on with page. Amounts are in each document's currency.
Common errors: 401 means the key is missing or wrong: copy it again from Profil und Einstellungen, or generate a new one there and update EASYBILL_API_KEY. 404 on a single customer or document usually means the AI passed the number shown in easybill instead of the numeric id.
The connector does not create, send, change or cancel invoices, offers or other documents, record payments, send reminders, edit or delete customers, or change the product catalog.
Step 2 — Install the adapter
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
Step 3 — Add the connector in Muse
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Muse adds remote MCP servers as custom connectors and signs in to them with OAuth.
- In Muse, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Paste the MCP server URL
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID. - Muse opens the AnythingMCP sign-in page: sign in and approve access.
- In a chat, ask Muse for something that needs the
easybilltools.
You can also set it up from a chat, on the web, in the iOS and Android apps or in WhatsApp. Send Muse this message:
Create a Custom Connector for a new remote MCP server, then connect to it:
Name: AnythingMCP
Transport: remote streamable HTTP
URL: https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID
Auth: OAuth
Self-hosting? Use your instance's public HTTPS address instead of https://cloud.anythingmcp.com. Muse connects from Meta's cloud, so localhost does not work.

FAQ
Where is Muse available? Meta currently offers Muse in the US and Canada, on the web, in the iOS and Android apps and in WhatsApp.
Does Meta review this connector? No. Meta doesn't review custom connectors. Muse sees only the tools you switched on for this MCP server in AnythingMCP, and you can disconnect it anytime under Settings → Connectors.
