Prerequisites

Step 1 — Get credentials

Setup:

1. Sign in to https://app.folk.app → bottom-left avatar → API & Integrations → API → Generate API token.
2. Set FOLK_API_TOKEN.
3. Note your workspace's groups — Folk's groups are loose collections (use them like tags).

Authentication: Authorization: Bearer ${FOLK_API_TOKEN}.

People / Companies / Deals: standard CRM objects, plus the relationship-graph idea — every person is linked to one or more companies, plus a free-form network of contacts.

Groups: flexible — Folk's primary segmentation. Add a person to multiple groups; each group has its own custom fields visible only when the person is in that group.

Step 2 — Install the adapter

Step 3 — Add the connector in Gemini

Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide shows YOUR_SERVER_ID.

Gemini CLI reads MCP servers from ~/.gemini/settings.json (or %APPDATA%\gemini\settings.json on Windows). Add:

1. Get your MCP API key from AnythingMCP → MCP Servers → your server → API keys.
2. Save the file and restart gemini.
3. Run /mcp inside the Gemini CLI — Folk should be listed as available.
4. Vertex AI Studio: pass https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID to the tools array of your request with the same X-API-Key header.
