Fortnox + Cursor

Fortnox — the Swedish SMB accounting standard: customers, invoices, supplier invoices, articles, orders, vouchers and the account chart. REST API v3, OAuth 2.0.

Prerequisites

See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:

FORTNOX_CLIENT_ID, FORTNOX_CLIENT_SECRET, FORTNOX_REFRESH_TOKEN

Step 1 — Get credentials

Getting a token

  1. Register at the Fortnox Developer Portal and create an integration. You receive a client id and client secret.
  2. Run the authorization-code flow once for the customer's Fortnox account, asking for the scopes you need — invoice, customer, article, order, supplierinvoice, bookkeeping, settings. Keep the refresh token.
  3. Set FORTNOX_CLIENT_ID, FORTNOX_CLIENT_SECRET and FORTNOX_REFRESH_TOKEN. AnythingMCP refreshes the access token on its own.

…(continued in the in-app connector instructions)

Step 2 — Install the adapter

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d

Step 3 — Add the connector in Cursor

Cursor reads MCP servers from ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Add this entry:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "anythingmcp": {
      "url": "https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_MCP_API_KEY" }
    }
  }
}
  1. Get your MCP API key from AnythingMCP → Profile → MCP API Keys → New Key.
  2. Save the file and restart Cursor.
  3. Open Cursor → Settings → MCP to verify Fortnox is listed and "Connected".
  4. Start chatting — all Fortnox tools are now invokable.
