French Company Data + Microsoft Copilot
French company register and legal notices, no API key: search companies by name, SIREN/SIRET, activity, place, size or officer (official SIRENE and RNE data), their BODACC notices (insolvency proceedings, sales, registrations, changes, filed accounts), BALO notices and financial ratios from filed accounts.
Prerequisites
See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:
(none: public data, no API key)
Step 1 — Set up the connector
Public data, no key: setup takes under a minute. The connector reads official French open data: the government's API Recherche d'entreprises (the data behind annuaire-entreprises.data.gouv.fr, INSEE SIRENE plus the national company register RNE), the BODACC and BALO legal notices, and the financial ratios the Ministry of the Economy computes from filed accounts. No account, API key or sign-in is needed.
- In the connector store, pick French Company Data and install it. There is nothing to paste and no Authorize with Provider step.
- Check it with
fr_company_data_getand the SIREN552032534: it shows that company's legal name, legal form, activity, status and head office.
SIREN, SIRET and NAF: a SIREN has 9 digits and identifies the company; a SIRET has 14 digits (the SIREN plus 5) and identifies one establishment. The NAF/APE code, such as 62.01Z, is the main activity. fr_company_data_get takes either a SIREN or a SIRET, with or without spaces.
What it reads: from the register, the legal name, legal form, NAF activity, size band, creation and closure dates, active or ceased status, head office and establishments, officers with role and birth month, VAT number, latest revenue and net income, collective agreements and labels such as RGE, ESS or Qualiopi. From BODACC, every legal notice since 2008: insolvency proceedings (sauvegarde, redressement, liquidation judiciaire), business sales, registrations, changes of officers, capital or address, deregistrations and filed accounts, each with its link on bodacc.fr. From BALO, the notices of listed companies and other issuers: general meetings, accounts, revenue figures, securities issues and mergers. And year by year, revenue, gross margin, EBITDA (EBE), EBIT, net income, debt ratio, liquidity, working capital and customer and supplier credit days from the accounts filed with INPI.
Search, prospect and watch: fr_company_data_search finds a company by name, narrowed by postcode, department or NAF code, finds the companies of an officer, and lists companies by activity, place, size, legal form or revenue for prospecting. fr_company_data_near_point finds companies with an establishment around a point, for example bakeries within 1 km of an address. fr_company_data_bodacc_search searches all BODACC notices (about 51 million, updated daily), for example every new liquidation in department 69 since Monday.
Reading the data: the register only holds the latest published revenue; for several years the AI uses fr_company_data_financial_ratios. One closing date can have several rows, for full (C), simplified (S) or consolidated (K) accounts, and the AI compares like with like. Amounts are in euros. Companies that chose to keep their accounts confidential have no figures. The AI turns codes such as the INSEE headcount band or the legal form (5710 SAS, 5499 SARL, 5599 SA) into plain words.
Personal data: officers' names and birth months are public register data. Use them for business purposes only, as French data protection law requires.
Read-only: every tool only reads, so there is nothing to confirm and no tool is switched off at install.
Limits: the company register allows 7 requests a second. Company searches return at most 25 results a page, BODACC, BALO and the ratios at most 100 a page, and each stops at 10,000 results in total, so the AI narrows a broad search with filters instead of paging through everything.
Common errors: 429 means more than 7 requests in a second: the AI waits a second and tries again. 400 on a search means the query has fewer than 3 characters and no filter.
The connector does not file formalities or legal notices, change anything in the registers, or show figures that a company has kept confidential.
Step 2 — Install the adapter
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
Step 3 — Add the connector in Microsoft Copilot
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Microsoft Copilot uses MCP servers through agents built in Copilot Studio: you add AnythingMCP to an agent as a tool, then publish the agent to Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams. Copilot Studio connects from Microsoft's cloud over Streamable HTTP, which AnythingMCP supports.
- In Copilot Studio, open your agent (or create one), go to Tools and choose Add a tool → New tool → Model Context Protocol.
- Enter a Server name (for example
AnythingMCP), a Server description that says what the connector does, and the Server URLhttps://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID. Copilot Studio uses the description to decide when to call the server. - Under authentication, choose API key, set Type to Header and the header name to
X-API-Key, then select Create. - In Add tool, choose Create a new connection, paste an MCP API key from AnythingMCP (MCP Servers → your server → API keys) and select Add to agent.
- Try it in the agent's Test pane: ask for something that needs the
French Company Datatools. - Select Publish, then Channels → Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams, keep Make agent available in Microsoft Copilot selected and choose Add channel. See agent in Teams installs it for you; in Microsoft 365 Copilot, type @ and pick the agent.
Prefer per-user sign-in? Choose OAuth 2.0 → Dynamic discovery instead of an API key: each user then signs in to AnythingMCP the first time the agent calls it.
Self-hosting? Use your instance's public HTTPS address instead of https://cloud.anythingmcp.com. Copilot Studio connects from Microsoft's cloud, so localhost does not work.

FAQ
Which Copilot is this for? Microsoft 365 Copilot at work, through agents built in Copilot Studio. The Microsoft Copilot app for personal accounts has no option to add your own MCP server.
What do I need? A work account with access to Copilot Studio (a license or a trial) to build the agent. People who use it in Microsoft 365 Copilot or Teams need access to the agent: share it with them, or ask an admin to publish it to the organization. If your organization applies data policies to Power Platform connectors, they cover MCP servers too.
The agent doesn't call the tools. Check that the header name is exactly X-API-Key and that the key belongs to the same MCP server as the URL, and make the server description specific: Copilot Studio uses it to decide when to call the server. Publish the agent again after each change; in an open chat, type "start over" to get the new version.
