How to Connect Fruugo to Microsoft Copilot via MCP

Fruugo + Microsoft Copilot

Sell on the Fruugo marketplace from an AI agent: download orders with lines, customer pricing, shipping address and shipments, and read the availability and stock of your SKUs. Confirming and shipping orders is included, installed switched off.

Prerequisites

See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:

FRUUGO_USERNAME, FRUUGO_PASSWORD

Step 1 — Get credentials

Setting up takes about 2 minutes. You need a Fruugo retailer account and a user of the Fruugo Retailer Portal.

1. Sign in to the Fruugo Retailer Portal at retailer.fruugo.com. Fruugo recommends a separate portal user for the integration, so create one for AnythingMCP if you can.
2. Put the user name of that portal user into FRUUGO_USERNAME and its password into FRUUGO_PASSWORD. Fruugo checks them with HTTP Basic on every call.
3. Install the connector and run fruugo_download_orders with a from date a few days back.

What it reads: the orders Fruugo has released to you after its fraud checks, with order and customer order id, dates, status, customer language, shipping address and method, shipping cost, order lines with Fruugo's and your own product and SKU ids, your prices and the prices the customer saw in their own currency, VAT, item counters (pending, confirmed, shipped, cancelled, return announced, returned) and shipments; and your live SKUs with title, availability (INSTOCK, OUTOFSTOCK, NOTAVAILABLE) and items in stock when your feed provides it. When Fruugo collected the tax, an order also carries Fruugo's tax id and EORI for the customs declaration.

At most 60 days per request: Fruugo lists orders for a window of at most 60 days; a longer one answers 400 Time range specified is too long. For a whole quarter, the AI asks in two parts and adds them up.

Order status: PENDING means new and waiting for you, PROCESSED means at least partly handled, EXCEPTION means Fruugo handles the order manually, outside the API.

Stock comes from your feed: the stock list arrives 1,000 SKUs per page, and the AI only reads further pages when you need them. The connector does not change stock or prices: those come from your product feed.

Switched off at install: fruugo_confirm_order and fruugo_ship_order. They act on real customer orders: the first confirms a pending order, optionally with an estimated shipping date; the second marks it shipped with the tracking code and the tracking URL or at least the courier name, which Fruugo passes on to the customer. Both work on a whole order or on a single item. An administrator turns them on deliberately, and even then the AI shows you the order and exactly what will change, and waits for your yes.

Common errors: 401 means a wrong portal user name or password; check them by signing in to retailer.fruugo.com. 400 explains the problem in plain text, for example a window over 60 days or an order that is not in the right state.

The connector does not cancel orders or record returns, because both refund the customer: do them in the Retailer Portal. It does not change listings, prices or stock either.

Step 2 — Install the adapter

Step 3 — Add the connector in Microsoft Copilot

Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide shows YOUR_SERVER_ID.

Microsoft Copilot uses MCP servers through agents built in Copilot Studio: you add AnythingMCP to an agent as a tool, then publish the agent to Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams. Copilot Studio connects from Microsoft's cloud over Streamable HTTP, which AnythingMCP supports.

1. In Copilot Studio, open your agent (or create one), go to Tools and choose Add a tool → New tool → Model Context Protocol.
2. Enter a Server name (for example AnythingMCP), a Server description that says what the connector does, and the Server URL https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID. Copilot Studio uses the description to decide when to call the server.
3. Under authentication, choose API key, set Type to Header and the header name to X-API-Key, then select Create.
4. In Add tool, choose Create a new connection, paste an MCP API key from AnythingMCP (MCP Servers → your server → API keys) and select Add to agent.
5. Try it in the agent's Test pane: ask for something that needs the Fruugo tools.
6. Select Publish, then Channels → Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams, keep Make agent available in Microsoft Copilot selected and choose Add channel. See agent in Teams installs it for you; in Microsoft 365 Copilot, type @ and pick the agent.

Prefer per-user sign-in? Choose OAuth 2.0 → Dynamic discovery instead of an API key: each user then signs in to AnythingMCP the first time the agent calls it.

Self-hosting? Use your instance's public HTTPS address instead of https://cloud.anythingmcp.com. Copilot Studio connects from Microsoft's cloud, so localhost does not work.

FAQ

Which Copilot is this for? Microsoft 365 Copilot at work, through agents built in Copilot Studio. The Microsoft Copilot app for personal accounts has no option to add your own MCP server.

What do I need? A work account with access to Copilot Studio (a license or a trial) to build the agent. People who use it in Microsoft 365 Copilot or Teams need access to the agent: share it with them, or ask an admin to publish it to the organization. If your organization applies data policies to Power Platform connectors, they cover MCP servers too.

The agent doesn't call the tools. Check that the header name is exactly X-API-Key and that the key belongs to the same MCP server as the URL, and make the server description specific: Copilot Studio uses it to decide when to call the server. Publish the agent again after each change; in an open chat, type "start over" to get the new version.
