Gelato + Gemini
Gelato print-on-demand: browse the product catalog, check prices, stock and shipping methods, quote, draft and track orders (including Etsy and Shopify orders), and manage products in connected stores. Gelato API with an API key.
Prerequisites
See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:
GELATO_API_KEY
Step 1 — Get credentials
- In the Gelato dashboard (dashboard.gelato.com), open Developer → API Keys and click Add API key. Only admins, or users given the permission, see this page.
- Name the key, click Create key and copy it right away: Gelato does not show it again.
- Paste it into
GELATO_API_KEYand install the connector. The key is sent as theX-API-KEYheader to each of Gelato's API hosts (product, order, shipment and ecommerce). - Start with
gelato_list_catalogsandgelato_get_catalog, then usegelato_search_productsto find theproductUidthat prices, quotes and orders need.gelato_quote_ordergives the full price with shipping options for a real address.
gelato_create_order, gelato_confirm_draft_order and gelato_create_product_from_template are installed switched off: the first two charge your Gelato account, the third publishes a listing to the connected store (Etsy charges a listing fee). Enable them on the connector page only if you want them. gelato_create_draft_order is on, because a draft is neither produced nor charged. Orders from a connected Etsy or Shopify store reach Gelato on their own and show up in gelato_search_orders; do not create them again.
Step 2 — Install the adapter
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
Step 3 — Add the connector in Gemini
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Gemini CLI reads MCP servers from ~/.gemini/settings.json (on Windows %USERPROFILE%\.gemini\settings.json). Add:
{
"mcpServers": {
"anythingmcp": {
"httpUrl": "https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID",
"headers": { "X-API-Key": "YOUR_MCP_API_KEY" }
}
}
}
- Create an MCP API key in AnythingMCP under MCP Servers → your server → API keys, and paste it in place of
YOUR_MCP_API_KEY. - Save the file and restart
gemini. - Run
/mcpinside Gemini CLI (orgemini mcp listin your shell) —anythingmcpshould show as connected. - Start prompting — Gemini CLI can now call the
Gelatotools.
