GetResponse + Meta Muse

Work with a GetResponse account from any AI agent: contact lists (campaigns), contacts with tags and custom fields, saved segments and ad-hoc contact search, newsletters from draft to sending with their statistics, autoresponders and their results, sender addresses and list growth reports. API v3 with an API key, GetResponse MAX supported; deleting contacts installs switched off.

Prerequisites

See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:

GETRESPONSE_API_URL, GETRESPONSE_API_KEY (GetResponse MAX only: GETRESPONSE_DOMAIN)

Step 1 β€” Get credentials

Setting up takes about 2 minutes. You need a GetResponse account.

  1. In GetResponse open Tools, Integrations and API, API (https://app.getresponse.com/api) and generate an API key. It acts with the full rights of the account, and a key that is not used for 90 days expires.
  2. Paste only the key into GETRESPONSE_API_KEY; the connector sends it as X-Auth-Token: api-key <key>.
  3. Set GETRESPONSE_API_URL to https://api.getresponse.com/v3 for a standard GetResponse account.
  4. GetResponse MAX: set GETRESPONSE_API_URL to https://api3.getresponse360.com/v3 (or https://api3.getresponse360.pl/v3 for the Polish data centre) and GETRESPONSE_DOMAIN to your MAX domain, only the name such as example.com; it is sent as the X-Domain header. Leave GETRESPONSE_DOMAIN empty otherwise.
  5. Install the connector and run getresponse_get_account: it shows the account and confirms the key.

In the GetResponse API a campaign is a contact list. Newsletters are the one-off mailings.

What it reads: the account, its sending limits and the time zones GetResponse knows (with the timeZoneId a scheduled send needs). Lists with their settings and contacts, a summary per list, and growth over time: list size, new subscriptions by origin (api, import, webform, landing page, ...) and removals by reason (unsubscribed, bounced, complaint, removed by user or API). Contacts of the whole account by email or name, list, origin or dates, one contact with its tags, custom field values, scoring, engagement score and day of cycle, and what a contact did (sends, opens and clicks; the last 14 days unless created_from is set). Tags, custom field definitions, saved segments with their conditions and the contacts matching them, ad-hoc contact searches, and the sender addresses. Newsletters with subject, sender, send settings and content, autoresponders with trigger and content, and the statistics of single or several newsletters and autoresponders (sent, delivered, opened, clicked, bounced, complaints, unsubscribed).

What it writes: creates lists (up to 1000 per account), tags and custom fields; adds contacts to a list, changes them, adds tags and sets custom field values; creates newsletters, sends a draft and cancels a scheduled or sending newsletter (it turns back into a draft; messages already delivered stay delivered).

Sending is real: getresponse_create_newsletter with type broadcast and getresponse_send_newsletter_draft email real people. The AI prefers type draft, shows you subject, sender, content and recipients and sends only after your yes. send_settings uses GetResponse's own keys, for example {"selectedCampaigns": ["V"], "excludedSegments": ["R"], "sendOn": {"date": "2026-11-14T07:00:00", "timeZone": {"timeZoneId": 282}}}; without sendOn the send starts at once. Creating newsletters is limited to 256 calls a day.

Adding contacts: getresponse_create_contact answers 202 with an empty body: the contact is queued and appears a little later, so the AI looks it up afterwards with getresponse_list_contacts (email with exact_match: exactMatch). 409 means the email is already on that list. With double opt-in on the list's API channel the contact first gets a confirmation email; unconfirmed contacts only show up in getresponse_search_contacts with subscribers_type: ["unconfirmed"]. A contact can also be rejected later in the queue, so one still missing after a few minutes was not added. Add only people who agreed to receive your email.

Tags and custom fields: tags are [{"tagId": "..."}], custom field values [{"customFieldId": "...", "value": ["..."]}] (value is always a list of strings). In getresponse_update_contact, tags and custom_field_values replace what the contact has, and a new list moves the contact there with its history; getresponse_upsert_contact_tags and getresponse_upsert_contact_custom_fields add without removing.

Ad-hoc search: getresponse_search_contacts takes subscribers_type, section_logic_operator (or or and) and section, a list of blocks with campaignIdsList, logicOperator, subscriberCycle, subscriptionDate and conditions, for example a tag condition {"conditionType": "tag", "operatorType": "exists", "operator": "exists", "value": "<tagId>"}. It is read-only although it is a POST. Reference: https://apidocs.getresponse.com/v3/case-study/segments-manual

Switched off at install: getresponse_delete_contact (cannot be undone; with message_id it records an unsubscribe from that message instead of a plain removal). A workspace admin turns it on when the team needs it.

Data formats: ids are short strings (V, pV3r). Times are ISO 8601 in UTC; date filters (created_from, created_to, ...) take YYYY-MM-DD or ISO 8601. Statistics come keyed by period start (or total) per group_by (hour, day, month, total). Open and click counts depend on the account's open-tracking consent settings. fields (comma-separated) returns smaller answers, for example fields: name, email.

Paging: lists return 100 items per page by default; per_page goes up to 1000 and page starts at 1. The answer carries _headers with totalcount, totalpages and currentpage; the AI stops when currentpage equals totalpages or a page comes back empty.

Limits: 30,000 calls per 10 minutes, 80 per second and at most 10 parallel requests per account. A 429 says in context.timeToReset how many seconds to wait.

Common errors: errors are JSON with httpStatus, code, message and context. 401 with code 1014 means a wrong, expired or missing key (on GetResponse MAX also a missing GETRESPONSE_DOMAIN or the wrong API address). 400 names the invalid field in context. 403 means the key's user lacks permission for that area or the API is not part of the plan. 404 is an unknown id. 409 is a duplicate (a contact already on the list, an existing name). 429 is the rate limit.

The connector does not cover landing pages, webinars, forms, ecommerce, SMS, workflows or transactional emails, and does not create or edit autoresponders.

Step 2 β€” Install the adapter

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d

Step 3 β€” Add the connector in Muse

Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers β†’ the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide shows YOUR_SERVER_ID.

Muse adds remote MCP servers as custom connectors and signs in to them with OAuth.

  1. In Muse, open Settings β†’ Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Paste the MCP server URL https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID.
  3. Muse opens the AnythingMCP sign-in page: sign in and approve access.
  4. In a chat, ask Muse for something that needs the GetResponse tools.

You can also set it up from a chat, on the web, in the iOS and Android apps or in WhatsApp. Send Muse this message:

Create a Custom Connector for a new remote MCP server, then connect to it:
Name: AnythingMCP
Transport: remote streamable HTTP
URL: https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID
Auth: OAuth

Self-hosting? Use your instance's public HTTPS address instead of https://cloud.anythingmcp.com. Muse connects from Meta's cloud, so localhost does not work.
