Connect HR WORKS to Muse
HR WORKS is the Freiburg-based HR/payroll SaaS used by ~20,000 DACH SMBs. With AnythingMCP you connect HR WORKS to Muse via MCP and run people-ops workflows in natural language — absence approvals, working-time analytics, applicant triage — all from a chat surface.
What You Can Ask Muse
- "Who is on vacation next week in the engineering team?"
- "Show me the sick-leave totals for Q1 2026 across all org units"
- "List the working-time entries for personnel number 1042 in March"
- "Which applicants are in the pipeline for the Berlin Frontend role?"
- "Get the leave-account balance for Jane Doe"
Setup
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
- In HR WORKS: Administration → API, create an API key pair (
accessKey+secretAccessKey) - Open
http://localhost:3000/connectors/store, import HR WORKS and paste the pair intoHRWORKS_ACCESS_KEYandHRWORKS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY. The connector exchanges it for a short-lived token and renews the token on its own. - (Optional) For the sandbox at
https://api.demo-hrworks.de, change the connector's base URL and the login URL in its auth settings to the demo host - Assign the connector to an MCP server
Connect Muse
The quickstart above listens on localhost only. For Muse, install the connector on AnythingMCP Cloud instead, or on an instance with a public HTTPS address.
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Muse adds remote MCP servers as custom connectors and signs in to them with OAuth.
- In Muse, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Paste the MCP server URL
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID. - Muse opens the AnythingMCP sign-in page: sign in and approve access.
- In a chat, ask Muse for something that needs the
HR WORKStools.
You can also set it up from a chat, on the web, in the iOS and Android apps or in WhatsApp. Send Muse this message:
Create a Custom Connector for a new remote MCP server, then connect to it:
Name: AnythingMCP
Transport: remote streamable HTTP
URL: https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID
Auth: OAuth
Self-hosting? Use your instance's public HTTPS address instead of https://cloud.anythingmcp.com. Muse connects from Meta's cloud, so localhost does not work.

Important: Token Lifetime
HR WORKS tokens expire after ~15 minutes. The connector logs in with your key pair, renews the token before it expires and logs in again after a 401, so long conversations, scheduled runs and agents keep working without you touching a token.
Date Interval Cap
hrworks_list_absences, _sick_leaves, _remote_work, _working_times cap at 1 year per call (or 31 days if interval=days). For multi-year analyses, ask Muse to iterate year by year.
FAQ
Where is Muse available? Meta currently offers Muse in the US and Canada, on the web, in the iOS and Android apps and in WhatsApp.
Does Meta review this connector? No. Meta doesn't review custom connectors. Muse sees only the tools you switched on for this MCP server in AnythingMCP, and you can disconnect it anytime under Settings → Connectors.
