How to Connect Loyverse to Cursor via MCP

Loyverse + Cursor

Loyverse point of sale back office: sales and refund receipts, shifts and cash, items with variants, categories, modifiers, discounts and taxes, stock per store, loyalty customers, employees, stores, POS devices, payment types, suppliers and webhooks. Refunds and deletes install switched off.

Prerequisites

See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:

Step 1 — Get credentials

Setting up takes about 2 minutes. You need the owner login of a Loyverse account.

1. Sign in to the Loyverse Back Office as the owner and open Settings, Access tokens (https://r.loyverse.com/dashboard/#/integrations/tokens). On some plans access tokens are part of the Integrations add-on.
2. Click Add access token, give it a name and, if you like, an expiry date, and save. Copy the token.
3. Paste it into LOYVERSE_ACCESS_TOKEN. It is sent as Authorization: Bearer <token> and has full access to the account, so keep it private.
4. Install the connector and run loyverse_get_merchant: it shows the business name and currency and confirms the token.

The connector talks to the Loyverse API v1.0 at https://api.loyverse.com/v1.0, the back office API of the Loyverse point of sale.

What it reads: the account with loyverse_get_merchant (currency and its decimal places), stores with loyverse_list_stores and loyverse_get_store, and POS devices with loyverse_list_pos_devices. Sales: loyverse_list_receipts by store and date range (created_at_min/created_at_max) or receipt numbers, newest first, with line items, discounts, taxes, payments, employee and customer; loyverse_get_receipt reads one receipt by its number. Shifts and cash: loyverse_list_shifts and loyverse_get_shift (cash movements, expected and actual cash, gross and net sales, taxes, payments per type). Payment types with loyverse_list_payment_types and loyverse_get_payment_type. Catalog: loyverse_list_items, loyverse_get_item, variants with SKU, barcode and per-store price with loyverse_list_variants (search by sku) and loyverse_get_variant, categories, modifiers, discounts, taxes and suppliers. Stock: loyverse_list_inventory gives in_stock per variant and store. Customers with loyverse_list_customers (search by email) and loyverse_get_customer, with visits, total spent and loyalty points; employees with loyverse_list_employees and loyverse_get_employee; webhooks with loyverse_list_webhooks.

What it writes: loyverse_create_receipt records a sale made elsewhere, for example in another channel: it reduces stock for tracked items and counts in the reports, and its payments must add up to the receipt total. The save tools create a record without id and update it with id: loyverse_save_item, loyverse_save_variant, loyverse_save_category, loyverse_save_discount, loyverse_save_tax and loyverse_save_customer (total_points sets the loyalty balance). An update replaces the whole record, so the AI reads it first and sends every field you want to keep. loyverse_set_inventory takes the new absolute quantity in stock_after, not a difference. loyverse_create_webhook subscribes an HTTPS URL to one event (receipts, items, customers, inventory changes or closed shifts); event type plus URL must be unique. Before a receipt or a stock change the AI shows you the lines, amounts or new levels and waits for your yes.

Switched off at install: loyverse_refund_receipt, loyverse_delete_item and loyverse_delete_customer. They cannot be undone, so a workspace admin switches them on when the team needs them.

Data formats: ids are UUIDs; receipts are addressed by receipt_number (e.g. 1-1001). Money is a decimal number in the account currency (see loyverse_get_merchant). Receipts have receipt_type SALE or REFUND; refunds carry positive amounts, so the AI subtracts them when it adds up sales, and cancelled_at marks cancelled receipts. All times are UTC (ISO 8601); the AI converts them to the store's time zone before grouping by day. Records deleted in the Back Office are hidden unless show_deleted is true.

Paging: list tools return limit records (50 by default, at most 250) and a cursor while more exist; the AI passes it as cursor until it is missing. Stores, POS devices, payment types, discounts and taxes come back all at once.

Limits and common errors: 300 requests per 300 seconds per account; above that Loyverse answers 429 RATE_LIMITED. Errors come as errors: [{code, details, field}]. 401 UNAUTHORIZED means a wrong or expired token: copy it again or create a new one. 402 PAYMENT_REQUIRED means the subscription or the add-on that includes the API has lapsed. 403 FORBIDDEN, 404 NOT_FOUND a wrong id, 400 INVALID_VALUE or MISSING_REQUIRED_PARAMETER with the field named.

With the tools on at install, the connector does not refund receipts and deletes nothing. It reads stores, POS devices, payment types, employees, modifiers and suppliers but does not create or change them, and it does not remove webhooks.

Step 2 — Install the adapter

Step 3 — Add the connector in Cursor

Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide shows YOUR_SERVER_ID.

Cursor reads MCP servers from ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Add this entry:

1. Create an MCP API key in AnythingMCP under MCP Servers → your server → API keys, and paste it in place of YOUR_MCP_API_KEY.
2. Save the file and restart Cursor.
3. Open Cursor → Settings → MCP and check that anythingmcp is listed and connected.
4. Start chatting: the agent can now call the Loyverse tools.
