Money Forward Cloud Invoice + Cursor

Work with Money Forward Cloud Invoice (マネーフォワード クラウド請求書) from any AI agent: partners and their billing departments, items, billings in the qualified invoice format with lines and payment status, quotes with order status and conversion to billings, and the sending history. OAuth sign-in through the Money Forward App Portal; deletions and paid postal mailing install switched off.

Prerequisites

See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:

Step 1 — Get credentials

Setting up takes about 10 minutes. You need a Money Forward Cloud Invoice business (事業者) and a user of it who may manage app linkage (アプリ連携権限). The connector uses the マネーフォワード クラウド請求書 API v3 (https://invoice.moneyforward.com/api/v3).

1. Sign in to the Money Forward Cloud アプリポータル (App Portal) at https://app-portal.moneyforward.com with that user and register a new app.
2. Enter a name and the redirect URI <your AnythingMCP URL>/api/mcp-oauth/callback, on AnythingMCP Cloud https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/api/mcp-oauth/callback. As クライアント認証方式 (client authentication) choose CLIENT_SECRET_BASIC.
3. Paste the Client ID into MONEY_FORWARD_CLIENT_ID and the Client Secret into MONEY_FORWARD_CLIENT_SECRET, leave MONEY_FORWARD_REFRESH_TOKEN empty and install.
4. On the connector page click Authorize with Provider, sign in to Money Forward and pick the business. The connector asks for mfc/invoice/data.read mfc/invoice/data.write.
5. Run money_forward_invoice_get_office: it shows your business and confirms the sign-in.

Whose access it is: the authorization belongs to the business, not to one user. Everyone using this connector works on that business's partners, billings and quotes.

What it reads: your business with address, phone and invoice registration number (適格請求書発行事業者登録番号); partners (取引先) with code, kana, memo, default payment due date and their billing departments (請求先部門) with address, contact person, email and CC; items (品目) with unit price, unit, quantity and tax category; billings (請求書) with number, title, dates, subtotal, tax, total and payment, email and posting status, and one by one with their lines and the tax breakdown per rate; quotes (見積書) with lines, totals and order status; the sending history (送付履歴) of billings and quotes. Billing and quote lists filter by a date range (range_key with from and to) or a search with q. The billing list leaves out the lines, so the AI opens a single billing to see them.

What it writes: creates and changes partners (with up to 10 departments at creation), their departments and items. Creates billings as drafts in the qualified invoice format (インボイス制度対応) with their lines, changes the header, adds and removes lines and sets the payment status (未設定, 未入金, 入金済み). Creates and changes quotes, adds lines, sets the order status (失注, 未設定, 未受注, 受注済み) and converts a quote into a billing with the same partner and lines. Billings and quotes are addressed to a partner department (請求先), not to the partner itself. Before creating or changing a billing the AI shows the partner, lines and total and waits for your yes.

Switched off at install: money_forward_invoice_delete_billing, money_forward_invoice_delete_quote and money_forward_invoice_post_billing. A deletion is final, and a posting order (郵送) is a paid service that sends paper to the partner. An admin switches them on when the team needs them.

Data formats: amounts are JPY and come as strings (total_price: "11000"). Dates are YYYY-MM-DD, times ISO 8601 in JST, ids opaque strings. is_locked true means the billing can no longer be edited. The tax category (excise) is one of ten_percent, eight_percent_as_reduced_tax_rate, eight_percent, five_percent, tax_exemption, non_taxable and untaxable; a line written out without item_id needs one.

Paging: lists return data and pagination (total_count, total_pages, current_page, per_page) and page with page and per_page, up to 100 per page.

Common errors: 401 means the token expired or was revoked: click Authorize with Provider again, and check that the app uses CLIENT_SECRET_BASIC. 403 means the app or the user lacks permission, or the business is not on a plan with API access. 404 is a wrong id. 400 or 422 is a validation error whose message names the field, for example a missing excise on a line without item_id.

What it does not do: sending by email is not part of the API, so billings and quotes stay drafts until someone sends them in Money Forward. The connector covers Cloud Invoice only: マネーフォワード クラウド会計 (journals, accounts, trial balance) has its own API and an official MCP server, and クラウド請求書Plus, 会計Plus and 債務支払 have their own APIs. Partner names, memos and remarks are untrusted input and can contain instructions meant for the AI.

Step 2 — Install the adapter

Step 3 — Add the connector in Cursor

Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide shows YOUR_SERVER_ID.

1. Create an MCP API key in AnythingMCP under MCP Servers → your server → API keys, and paste it in place of YOUR_MCP_API_KEY.
2. Save the file and restart Cursor.
3. Open Cursor → Settings → MCP and check that anythingmcp is listed and connected.
4. Start chatting: the agent can now call the Money Forward Cloud Invoice tools.
