Prerequisites

See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:

MONEYBIRD_API_TOKEN, MONEYBIRD_ADMINISTRATION_ID

Step 1 — Get credentials

Getting a token

  1. Sign in to Moneybird and open Instellingen → Koppelingen → API-tokens (Settings → Integrations → API tokens).
  2. Create a personal access token and put it in MONEYBIRD_API_TOKEN.
  3. Set MONEYBIRD_ADMINISTRATION_ID to the numeric administration id. It is in the URL when you are logged in — moneybird.com/123456789/… — and moneybird_list_administrations also returns it.

Every data path carries the administration id. A Moneybird account can hold several administrations (one per company, or a bookkeeper's client list) and each has its own id. This connector is fixed to one; add a second connector for a second administration.

Step 2 — Install the adapter

Step 3 — Add the connector in Cursor

Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide shows YOUR_SERVER_ID.

Cursor reads MCP servers from ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Add this entry:

  1. Get your MCP API key from AnythingMCP → MCP Servers → your server → API keys.
  2. Save the file and restart Cursor.
  3. Open Cursor → Settings → MCP to verify Moneybird is listed and "Connected".
  4. Start chatting — all Moneybird tools are now invokable.
