Claude is AI and can make mistakes. Please double-check responses.

Self-hosted only. OpenTable refuses requests from datacenter IP addresses, and AnythingMCP Cloud runs in a datacenter, so this connector is not available on AnythingMCP Cloud. It works on an AnythingMCP instance you run yourself on a computer or server with a regular home or office internet connection.

OpenTable + Meta Muse

Search restaurants on OpenTable from any AI assistant. Find restaurants near a coordinate, read full restaurant detail (menu, hours, photos, reviews), check live table availability for a given party size and time window. 4 tools, no auth — reverse-engineered from the OpenTable mobile app.

Prerequisites

See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:

(none — public API)

Step 1 — Get credentials

This connector wraps the OpenTable mobile app's internal API (mobile-api.opentable.co.uk).

Setup: nothing. The endpoints exposed here are the same the OpenTable iOS app uses for restaurant discovery; they do not require an API key or user login.

What it does NOT do: complete reservations. OpenTable's reservation-completion flow requires a logged-in session + payment-method-on-file + bot-detection checks that we deliberately don't automate. Use this connector to find the right restaurant and slot; book in the OpenTable app or web site.

Geo coordinate: latitude and longitude as floats. Use 48.0707,7.8674 for Freiburg, 41.3851,2.1734 for Barcelona, 40.7128,-74.0060 for NYC.

…(continued in the in-app connector instructions)

Step 2 — Install the adapter

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
  1. Open http://localhost:3000 and register. The first account becomes the admin.
  2. Open the connector store (http://localhost:3000/connectors/store), pick OpenTable, fill in the credentials it asks for (some connectors need none) and install it.
  3. Under MCP Servers, create a server and assign the OpenTable connector to it. On the server's page, copy the MCP endpoint (http://localhost:4000/mcp/<server-id>) and generate a key under API keys.

The quickstart listens on localhost only. For an instance that other people or cloud-based AI clients can reach, clone the repository and run ./setup.sh, which sets up a domain, HTTPS and OAuth (deployment guide).

Step 3 — Add the OpenTable connector to Muse

Muse connects to MCP servers from Meta's cloud, so it cannot reach the localhost endpoint of the quickstart. To use OpenTable in Muse you need an AnythingMCP instance with a public HTTPS address (see ./setup.sh above) on a connection OpenTable accepts. In Muse, open Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, paste the instance's MCP endpoint and sign in to AnythingMCP when Muse asks (OAuth, which ./setup.sh sets up by default).

If a public instance is not an option, use a client that runs on your computer instead: Claude Code, Cursor or Gemini CLI reach localhost directly.

FAQ

Why isn't OpenTable available on AnythingMCP Cloud? OpenTable refuses requests from datacenter IP addresses. AnythingMCP Cloud runs in a datacenter, so every call would fail. An AnythingMCP instance on a home or office connection usually works.

Where is Muse available? Meta currently offers Muse in the US and Canada, on the web, in the iOS and Android apps and in WhatsApp.

Does Meta review this connector? No. Meta doesn't review custom connectors. Muse sees only the tools you switched on for this MCP server in AnythingMCP, and you can disconnect it anytime under Settings → Connectors.
