Step 1 — Get credentials

Getting a token

The Papershift API is a paid add-on: ask Papershift sales or your customer success manager to activate it for the account.
Sign in, click the gear icon (bottom left) → Account Settings → API tab → Create New API Key.
A new key has read and write permissions by default; restrict it to read if you only want reporting, then copy it into PAPERSHIFT_API_TOKEN. Anyone holding it can read the whole roster, so treat it as a password.

Step 2 — Install the adapter

Step 3 — Add the connector in Gemini

Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide shows YOUR_SERVER_ID.

Gemini CLI reads MCP servers from ~/.gemini/settings.json (or %APPDATA%\gemini\settings.json on Windows). Add:

Get your MCP API key from AnythingMCP → MCP Servers → your server → API keys.
Save the file and restart gemini.
Run /mcp inside the Gemini CLI — Papershift should be listed as available.
Vertex AI Studio: pass https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID to the tools array of your request with the same X-API-Key header.

`papershift_list_working_sessions`	Read actually worked time in a date range — clock-in and clock-out, breaks and the resulting duration
`papershift_list_absences`	Read absences (holiday, sickness, special leave) in a date range with their type and approval state, to explain gaps in the roster
`papershift_list_working_areas`	List the working areas (Arbeitsbereiche) inside the locations — the roles a shift can be planned for, such as bar, kitchen or till
