Skip the install. Get this working in under 2 minutes.
Start a free trial on cloud.anythingmcp.com, add the pCloud in one click, then point your AI client (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot or Cursor) at the generated MCP endpoint. No Docker, no git clone, zero engineering experience required.
Summary
Let your AI work with your pCloud files: browse folders, read file details, revisions and small text files, get download links and list public links, and create folders, copy, move and rename, or share with a public link after you confirm. US and EU accounts. Sign in with your own pCloud app.

pCloud + Gemini
Let your AI work with your pCloud files: browse folders, read file details, revisions and small text files, get download links and list public links, and create folders, copy, move and rename, or share with a public link after you confirm. US and EU accounts. Sign in with your own pCloud app.
Prerequisites
See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:
PCLOUD_CLIENT_ID, PCLOUD_CLIENT_SECRET, PCLOUD_API_HOST
Step 1 — Get credentials
Setting up takes about 5 minutes. You create a small app of your own at pCloud, then sign in with your pCloud account.
First, check your data region. pCloud keeps every account either in the United States or in Europe (Luxembourg), chosen when you signed up, and its API only answers in the account's own region. If you sign in to the web app at e.pcloud.com, your account is in Europe: use eapi.pcloud.com. If you sign in at my.pcloud.com, it is in the United States: use api.pcloud.com. With the wrong host the sign-in fails or every call answers "Invalid 'access_token' provided".
- Sign in at docs.pcloud.com, open My Apps and click Create new app. Choose what the app may reach: only its own app folder, or the whole drive. Pick the whole drive if the AI should work with the files you already have.
- In the app's settings, add the redirect URI
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/api/mcp-oauth/callback. If you host AnythingMCP yourself, addhttps://your-anythingmcp-host/api/mcp-oauth/callbackinstead. - Copy the Client ID into
PCLOUD_CLIENT_IDand the Client secret intoPCLOUD_CLIENT_SECRET, enter your region host (eapi.pcloud.comorapi.pcloud.com, without https://) inPCLOUD_API_HOST, and install the connector. - On the connector page, click Authorize with Provider, sign in to pCloud and allow access. pCloud tokens do not expire, so there is nothing to renew.
- Start with
pcloud_get_user_info: it shows the account, the plan and how much space is used.
What it reads: the contents of every folder, starting at the root; the details of a file such as size, type, dates and, for photos and videos, width and height; earlier revisions of a file; the text of small text files such as txt, csv, md, json or html (up to about 100 KB); temporary download links for any file or revision, meant for you and not for sharing; and your public links with their downloads so far.
No search: the pCloud API has no search. To find a file, the AI goes through the folders and compares names, so tell it where to look if you know.
Changes wait for your yes: creating folders, copying, moving and renaming files and folders, and creating public links change your drive or make files reachable by anyone with the link. Before each one the AI shows you exactly what will happen (source, destination, new name or link settings) and waits for your confirmation. Moving or copying onto a file with the same name replaces it, and the AI tells you when that would happen. Public links can have an expiry date, a download limit and, on premium plans, a password.
Read-only setup: switch off pcloud_create_folder, pcloud_copy_file, pcloud_copy_folder, pcloud_move_file, pcloud_move_folder, pcloud_create_file_public_link and pcloud_create_folder_public_link on the connector page.
Switched off at install: pcloud_delete_file and pcloud_delete_folder. An administrator turns them on deliberately; deleted items then go to pCloud's trash, and the AI deletes only after you confirm. A folder must be empty to be deleted.
Common errors: "Log in required" or "Invalid 'access_token' provided" means the sign-in was revoked or PCLOUD_API_HOST points to the other region; fix the host and authorize again. "Access denied": an app limited to its own folder tried to reach other files. A missing file or folder means the id or path is wrong; names are case-sensitive. Over quota: the drive is full. Too many requests: wait a minute.
The connector does not upload or delete files (deleting is switched off), empty the trash, share folders with other pCloud users, create upload links or zip archives, stream video or audio, or open pCloud Crypto folders, which are encrypted on your device and unreadable to the API.
Step 2 — Install the adapter
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
Step 3 — Add the connector in Gemini
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Gemini CLI reads MCP servers from ~/.gemini/settings.json (on Windows %USERPROFILE%\.gemini\settings.json). Add:
{
"mcpServers": {
"anythingmcp": {
"httpUrl": "https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID",
"headers": { "X-API-Key": "YOUR_MCP_API_KEY" }
}
}
}
- Create an MCP API key in AnythingMCP under MCP Servers → your server → API keys, and paste it in place of
YOUR_MCP_API_KEY. - Save the file and restart
gemini. - Run
/mcpinside Gemini CLI (orgemini mcp listin your shell):anythingmcpshould show as connected. - Start prompting: Gemini CLI can now call the
pCloudtools.

FAQ
Where does Gemini CLI look for MCP servers? In ~/.gemini/settings.json for your user, or in .gemini/settings.json inside a project. gemini mcp list shows each server and whether it connects.
