Playtomic + Gemini
Full Playtomic access for padel, tennis, and futsal players. Search clubs and availability, find open matches to join, read your own profile, level, stats, history, and recommendations. 13 tools, email + password auth with automatic JWT refresh.
Prerequisites
See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:
PLAYTOMIC_EMAIL, PLAYTOMIC_PASSWORD
Step 1 — Get credentials
Setting up takes about 2 minutes and needs nothing but the email and password of your Playtomic account.
- Paste your Playtomic email into
PLAYTOMIC_EMAILand your password intoPLAYTOMIC_PASSWORD. Both are stored encrypted. - Install the connector. AnythingMCP signs in to Playtomic for you and gets a token that lasts about an hour; it renews it a minute before it runs out and whenever Playtomic answers 401.
- Run
playtomic_get_my_profile: it shows your name and email. Then ask for your level, whichplaytomic_get_my_levelreads per sport.
On AnythingMCP Cloud the calls go through a proxy: Playtomic refuses requests from datacenter IP addresses (its sign-in answers 403 with a web page). Every call of this connector, the sign-in included, therefore goes through the connector proxy, which is set up for you on AnythingMCP Cloud and counts towards your workspace's hourly proxy quota. Self-hosted on a home or office connection, it works directly; on a server in a datacenter, set CONNECTOR_PROXY_URL. The proxy terminates TLS, so your Playtomic email and password pass through it on their way to Playtomic.
What it reads: clubs near a place, with their courts, address and time zone; the free slots of each court for a day, with duration and price (member discounts of your account included); open matches that are looking for players in a date window, and the details of a match; the matches Playtomic recommends at your level near a point; tournaments and leagues; your profile, your level per sport (usually 0 to 7, with its confidence and, if you want, its history), your lifetime results (played, won, lost, drawn) and the clubs where you play most.
Reading free courts: times are in the club's local time zone. The same start time can appear with 60, 90 and 120 minutes: those are alternative bookings of one slot, not separate free courts. Prices come as text, such as 48 EUR. Court names, indoor or outdoor, single or double and the wall type (wall, crystal, panoramic) come from the club's details.
Read-only, nothing to confirm: all 13 tools only read, and none is switched off at install. Booking or paying for a court, joining or creating a match and accepting a join request stay in the Playtomic app.
Playtomic Lite: if you only need club search and free courts, the lighter Playtomic Lite connector has just the 4 club and availability tools.
Not a documented public API: the connector uses the API the Playtomic app works with. Playtomic does not document it and can change it without notice; if a tool stops working, look for a connector update.
Limits: Playtomic publishes no rate limits, so the AI keeps to about one request a second. An empty list of recommendations is normal and only means there are none right now.
Common errors: 401 twice in a row means the email or password is wrong. 403 with a web page instead of data means the call left from a datacenter without the proxy.
The connector does not book or cancel courts, join, create or leave matches, accept join requests, pay, or write to other players.
Step 2 — Install the adapter
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
Step 3 — Add the connector in Gemini
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Gemini CLI reads MCP servers from ~/.gemini/settings.json (on Windows %USERPROFILE%\.gemini\settings.json). Add:
{
"mcpServers": {
"anythingmcp": {
"httpUrl": "https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID",
"headers": { "X-API-Key": "YOUR_MCP_API_KEY" }
}
}
}
- Create an MCP API key in AnythingMCP under MCP Servers → your server → API keys, and paste it in place of
YOUR_MCP_API_KEY. - Save the file and restart
gemini. - Run
/mcpinside Gemini CLI (orgemini mcp listin your shell):anythingmcpshould show as connected. - Start prompting: Gemini CLI can now call the
Playtomictools.

FAQ
Where does Gemini CLI look for MCP servers? In ~/.gemini/settings.json for your user, or in .gemini/settings.json inside a project. gemini mcp list shows each server and whether it connects.
