Your Revolut Business account in Copilot
AnythingMCP has a ready-made Revolut Business connector. It uses Revolut's official Business API and is read-only: Copilot can look at your accounts, balances, transactions, payees, expenses and exchange rates, but cannot send payments or move money.
It works with Revolut Business accounts only. For personal accounts Revolut offers no API apart from PSD2 open banking, which is reserved for licensed providers. See your options for personal bank accounts.
What you can ask Copilot
- "What's the balance on each of our Revolut accounts?" Uses
revolut_list_accounts. - "Show me all incoming payments from last week." Uses
revolut_list_transactionswithfromandto. - "Summarise September's card spending by merchant." Uses
revolut_list_transactionswith typecard_payment. - "Which expenses are still missing information?" Uses
revolut_list_expenseswith statemissing_info. - "What's the IBAN of our EUR account?" Uses
revolut_get_account_bank_details. - "What would 10,000 EUR get us in USD right now, fee included?" Uses
revolut_get_exchange_rate.
What you need
- A Revolut Business account on the Grow plan or higher. Revolut includes Business API access from Grow upwards.
- Permission to manage the API in Revolut Business (the APIs section of the settings).
- A terminal with
openssl(macOS, Linux, or WSL on Windows) to create a key pair. Revolut identifies the connector by your certificate instead of a password or client secret. - An AnythingMCP workspace: AnythingMCP Cloud (7-day free trial) or your own installation.
Step-by-step setup
Step 1: Create a key pair
openssl genrsa -out privatecert.pem 2048
openssl req -new -x509 -key privatecert.pem -out publiccert.cer -days 1825
Answer at least one of the certificate questions, for example the country; the others can stay empty. publiccert.cer goes to Revolut and privatecert.pem to AnythingMCP. Don't share the private key with anyone else.
Step 2: Add the certificate in Revolut Business
- In the Revolut Business web app, open Settings → APIs → Business API and click Add API certificate.
- Paste the whole content of
publiccert.cer, including the BEGIN and END lines, into X509 public key. - As OAuth redirect URI, enter
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/api/mcp-oauth/callback. If you host AnythingMCP yourself, use<your AnythingMCP URL>/api/mcp-oauth/callback. - Save, and copy the Client ID that Revolut shows for the certificate.
Step 3: Install the connector in AnythingMCP
In AnythingMCP, open Connectors, pick Revolut Business and fill in:
REVOLUT_CLIENT_ID: the Client ID from Step 2.REVOLUT_PRIVATE_KEY: the whole content ofprivatecert.pem, including the BEGIN and END lines. It is stored encrypted and never shown again.REVOLUT_REDIRECT_DOMAIN: the domain of the redirect URI, withouthttps://and without a path, for examplecloud.anythingmcp.com.
Step 4: Authorize with Revolut
Open the connector and click Authorize with Provider. Revolut asks you to approve access with two-factor authentication and sends you back to AnythingMCP. The connector requests Revolut's read-only READ permission. Revolut's access tokens expire after 40 minutes; AnythingMCP renews them on its own, signing each renewal with your private key, so you only authorize once.
Step 5: Connect Microsoft Copilot
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Microsoft Copilot uses MCP servers through agents built in Copilot Studio: you add AnythingMCP to an agent as a tool, then publish the agent to Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams. Copilot Studio connects from Microsoft's cloud over Streamable HTTP, which AnythingMCP supports.
- In Copilot Studio, open your agent (or create one), go to Tools and choose Add a tool → New tool → Model Context Protocol.
- Enter a Server name (for example
AnythingMCP), a Server description that says what the connector does, and the Server URLhttps://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID. Copilot Studio uses the description to decide when to call the server. - Under authentication, choose API key, set Type to Header and the header name to
X-API-Key, then select Create. - In Add tool, choose Create a new connection, paste an MCP API key from AnythingMCP (MCP Servers → your server → API keys) and select Add to agent.
- Try it in the agent's Test pane: ask for something that needs the
Revolut Businesstools. - Select Publish, then Channels → Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams, keep Make agent available in Microsoft Copilot selected and choose Add channel. See agent in Teams installs it for you; in Microsoft 365 Copilot, type @ and pick the agent.
Prefer per-user sign-in? Choose OAuth 2.0 → Dynamic discovery instead of an API key: each user then signs in to AnythingMCP the first time the agent calls it.
Self-hosting? Use your instance's public HTTPS address instead of https://cloud.anythingmcp.com. Copilot Studio connects from Microsoft's cloud, so localhost does not work.
Step 6: Ask Copilot about your banking
Start with the questions under What you can ask Copilot. Copilot picks the tool, fills in dates and filters, and answers from the data Revolut returns.
Try it in the sandbox first
Revolut has a free Business sandbox with test data at sandbox-business.revolut.com. Upload the certificate there instead. Then, in the connector's settings, change the base URL to https://sandbox-b2b.revolut.com/api/1.0, the authorization URL to https://sandbox-business.revolut.com/app-confirm and the token URL to https://sandbox-b2b.revolut.com/api/1.0/auth/token, and authorize again. Expenses are not available in the sandbox.
Troubleshooting
- Authorizing ends with an error about the redirect URI. The redirect URI saved with the certificate in Revolut must match the one from Step 2 exactly.
- Authorizing fails with "invalid_request" or an invalid client. Check that
REVOLUT_REDIRECT_DOMAINis the redirect URI's domain withouthttps://, and thatREVOLUT_PRIVATE_KEYis the key you created the uploaded certificate from. - Calls stopped working. Revolut revokes access when the certificate is deleted or replaced. Authorize again from the connector page.
- Revolut won't let you add an API certificate. Check your plan: the Business API comes with Grow and higher.
- You set an IP allow-list on the certificate. Revolut then accepts requests only from the listed addresses, so the address your AnythingMCP server calls from has to be on it.
FAQ
Can Copilot make payments from Revolut?
No. The connector has no payment, transfer or exchange tools, and the access it holds is Revolut's read-only READ permission.
Does it work with a personal Revolut account? No. Revolut's Business API only covers Revolut Business. For personal accounts, see your options for connecting a bank account.
Do I have to replace a token every 40 minutes? No. You authorize once. AnythingMCP renews the access token itself with a short-lived token signed by your private key, the way Revolut documents it.
Is my data stored by AnythingMCP? The private key and Revolut's tokens are stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) in your workspace and are never shown to Copilot. When Copilot uses a tool, AnythingMCP calls Revolut and passes the result on, and the call is recorded in your workspace's audit log. AnythingMCP Cloud is hosted in Frankfurt, Germany.
Which Copilot is this for? Microsoft 365 Copilot at work, through agents built in Copilot Studio. The Microsoft Copilot app for personal accounts has no option to add your own MCP server.
What do I need? A work account with access to Copilot Studio (a license or a trial) to build the agent. People who use it in Microsoft 365 Copilot or Teams need access to the agent: share it with them, or ask an admin to publish it to the organization. If your organization applies data policies to Power Platform connectors, they cover MCP servers too.
The agent doesn't call the tools. Check that the header name is exactly X-API-Key and that the key belongs to the same MCP server as the URL, and make the server description specific: Copilot Studio uses it to decide when to call the server. Publish the agent again after each change; in an open chat, type "start over" to get the new version.
