Snapchat Ads + Microsoft Copilot
Let your AI work with your Snapchat ads: list organizations, ad accounts, campaigns, ad squads, ads, creatives and audiences, read impressions, swipes and spend per day or in total, and pause or restart a campaign after your confirmation. Signed in through an OAuth app of your own in Snap Business Manager.
Prerequisites
See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:
SNAPCHAT_CLIENT_ID, SNAPCHAT_CLIENT_SECRET
Step 1 — Get credentials
- Sign in at business.snapchat.com as an Organization Admin. Only admins see the OAuth app settings.
- Open Business Details (or Business Settings) → OAuth Apps and create an app. Give it a name and set the Redirect URI to
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/api/mcp-oauth/callback. If you host AnythingMCP yourself, usehttps://your-anythingmcp-host/api/mcp-oauth/callback. Accept the Snap Developer Terms and the Snap Business Tools Terms. - Copy the Client ID into
SNAPCHAT_CLIENT_IDand the Client Secret intoSNAPCHAT_CLIENT_SECRET. The secret is shown only once; if you lose it, create a new app. - Install the connector, click Authorize with Provider on the connector page, sign in with the Snapchat account that has access to your ad accounts and approve.
- Start with
snapchat_list_organizations: it lists your organizations with their ad accounts, currency and time zone.
The Marketing API is open to every advertiser: there is no application or review by Snap.
Who sees what: the connector asks for the scope snapchat-marketing-api and sees what the signed-in user may see in Ads Manager. Ad accounts that user has no role on answer 403.
What it reads: organizations and ad accounts; campaigns with objective, schedule, daily budget and spend cap; ad squads (Snapchat's ad sets) with placement, optimization goal, bid, budget and targeting; ads with their review status and rejection reasons; creatives; and audience segments such as customer lists and lookalikes with their approximate size. Statistics give impressions, swipes, spend and other metrics for an ad account, campaign, ad squad or ad, as one total or per day (up to 31 days) or per hour (up to 7 days), and can be split by campaign, ad squad or ad.
Money in micro-currency: Snapchat states budgets, bids and spend in millionths of the account currency, so a spend of 12345678 is 12.35. The AI converts the figures before quoting them. Numbers become final 48 hours after the end of a day.
Asks before every change: snapchat_set_campaign_status pauses a campaign or turns it back on. Turning it on starts spending its budget, so the AI names the campaign, says what will happen and waits for your yes. Only the status changes; Snapchat then checks the whole campaign and refuses the change if something in it is invalid.
Switched off at install: snapchat_set_campaign_daily_budget. A budget change decides how much money is spent, so an administrator turns the tool on deliberately; the AI then shows the change and asks first as well.
Staying signed in: access tokens last one hour and are renewed automatically. Removing the user from the organization, or deleting the app, ends the sign-in; then click Authorize with Provider again.
Common errors: 401: the sign-in expired or was revoked; authorize again. 403: the user has no role on that organization or ad account. 400: Snapchat names the field in its message, for example when it refuses a status change; for statistics, ask for fewer metrics or a shorter period. 429: too many requests; wait and try again.
The connector does not create or delete campaigns, ad squads, ads or creatives, upload media or change targeting, and it does not cover the Conversions API, pixels, billing or invoices.
Step 2 — Install the adapter
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
Step 3 — Add the connector in Microsoft Copilot
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Microsoft Copilot uses MCP servers through agents built in Copilot Studio: you add AnythingMCP to an agent as a tool, then publish the agent to Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams. Copilot Studio connects from Microsoft's cloud over Streamable HTTP, which AnythingMCP supports.
- In Copilot Studio, open your agent (or create one), go to Tools and choose Add a tool → New tool → Model Context Protocol.
- Enter a Server name (for example
AnythingMCP), a Server description that says what the connector does, and the Server URLhttps://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID. Copilot Studio uses the description to decide when to call the server. - Under authentication, choose API key, set Type to Header and the header name to
X-API-Key, then select Create. - In Add tool, choose Create a new connection, paste an MCP API key from AnythingMCP (MCP Servers → your server → API keys) and select Add to agent.
- Try it in the agent's Test pane: ask for something that needs the
Snapchat Adstools. - Select Publish, then Channels → Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams, keep Make agent available in Microsoft Copilot selected and choose Add channel. See agent in Teams installs it for you; in Microsoft 365 Copilot, type @ and pick the agent.
Prefer per-user sign-in? Choose OAuth 2.0 → Dynamic discovery instead of an API key: each user then signs in to AnythingMCP the first time the agent calls it.
Self-hosting? Use your instance's public HTTPS address instead of https://cloud.anythingmcp.com. Copilot Studio connects from Microsoft's cloud, so localhost does not work.

FAQ
Which Copilot is this for? Microsoft 365 Copilot at work, through agents built in Copilot Studio. The Microsoft Copilot app for personal accounts has no option to add your own MCP server.
What do I need? A work account with access to Copilot Studio (a license or a trial) to build the agent. People who use it in Microsoft 365 Copilot or Teams need access to the agent: share it with them, or ask an admin to publish it to the organization. If your organization applies data policies to Power Platform connectors, they cover MCP servers too.
The agent doesn't call the tools. Check that the header name is exactly X-API-Key and that the key belongs to the same MCP server as the URL, and make the server description specific: Copilot Studio uses it to decide when to call the server. Publish the agent again after each change; in an open chat, type "start over" to get the new version.
