Tiendanube / Nuvemshop + Gemini
Tiendanube (Nuvemshop in Brazil) online stores: store info, products, variants and stock, categories, orders and fulfillment orders, customers, abandoned checkouts, coupons and webhooks. REST API 2025-03 with an app access token.
Prerequisites
See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:
TIENDANUBE_STORE_ID, TIENDANUBE_ACCESS_TOKEN
Step 1 — Get credentials
Tiendanube (Nuvemshop in Brazil) has no API keys in the store admin: access goes through an app. To connect your own store, create an app once and install it on the store.
- Register at the Tiendanube or Nuvemshop Partners portal and create an app under Apps. Choose the scopes the AI needs, for example
read_products,write_products,read_orders,write_orders,read_customers,read_coupons. A write scope includes its read scope. - Install the app on your store by opening
https://www.tiendanube.com/apps/APP_ID/authorize. You are redirected to the app's redirect URL with acode, valid for 5 minutes. - Exchange the code with
POST https://www.tiendanube.com/apps/authorize/token, sendingclient_id,client_secret,grant_type=authorization_codeandcode. Putaccess_tokeninTIENDANUBE_ACCESS_TOKEN(the token alone, without "bearer") anduser_idinTIENDANUBE_STORE_ID. - Call
tiendanube_get_storefirst to check the connection: it returns the store name, languages, currency and plan.
The token does not expire. It stops working when the app is uninstalled or a new token is issued for the same app. A 403 means the app lacks a scope: add it in the Partners portal and reinstall the app. A 402 means the store's API access is suspended for an unpaid subscription.
Limits: a bucket of 40 requests that drains at 2 per second, per store and app (10x on the Next and Evolution plans). Order queries stop at 10,000 results, so narrow them by date or status. Product names and descriptions are objects per language, and stock and price live on the variant. tiendanube_cancel_order puts the stock back and e-mails the customer unless you turn that off.
Step 2 — Install the adapter
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
Step 3 — Add the connector in Gemini
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Gemini CLI reads MCP servers from ~/.gemini/settings.json (on Windows %USERPROFILE%\.gemini\settings.json). Add:
{
"mcpServers": {
"anythingmcp": {
"httpUrl": "https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID",
"headers": { "X-API-Key": "YOUR_MCP_API_KEY" }
}
}
}
- Create an MCP API key in AnythingMCP under MCP Servers → your server → API keys, and paste it in place of
YOUR_MCP_API_KEY. - Save the file and restart
gemini. - Run
/mcpinside Gemini CLI (orgemini mcp listin your shell) —anythingmcpshould show as connected. - Start prompting — Gemini CLI can now call the
Tiendanube / Nuvemshoptools.

FAQ
Where does Gemini CLI look for MCP servers? In ~/.gemini/settings.json for your user, or in .gemini/settings.json inside a project. gemini mcp list shows each server and whether it connects.
