TradingView + Cursor
Look up quotes, price history, technical ratings, fundamentals, news, filings and calendars, run the TradingView Screener and manage your watchlists and price alerts from Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot through TradingView's official MCP server.
Prerequisites
- A paid TradingView plan, Essential or higher. Free accounts and trial plans do not include MCP access.
- Nothing to paste: the connector has no environment variables and needs no API key. You sign in with TradingView after installing it.
- If several people use the connector: whoever signs in is the TradingView account for all of them.
Step 1 — Sign in with TradingView
TradingView runs its own official remote MCP server, in public beta since September 2026. This connector bridges it: the tools are TradingView's (symbol search, quotes and price history, the Screener, technical ratings, fundamentals and analyst forecasts, news, filings and earnings call transcripts, earnings, dividend and economic calendars, economic indicators, and your watchlists and price alerts), and AnythingMCP puts them behind your AnythingMCP server with its API keys, per-tool roles and audit log, next to your other connectors.
- Install the connector from the catalog. There is nothing to paste: no API key, client ID or secret.
- On the connector page click Authorize with Provider. AnythingMCP registers itself with TradingView and sends you to the TradingView sign-in.
- Sign in with your paid TradingView account and approve access. Back in AnythingMCP the tool list is reloaded from TradingView's server. TradingView adds tools during the beta: Discover tools on the connector picks up new ones.
Plan and beta limits: MCP access comes with the paid TradingView plans from Essential upwards; free accounts and trial plans are refused. During the beta TradingView serves delayed market data, allows about 100 calls a minute per user and may cap requests per day. If you hit the limit, wait a minute.
Whose account it is: the person who signs in is the TradingView user for everyone who uses this connector. Everyone reads that account's watchlists and alerts and changes them under that account, so if several people share the connector, decide whose account it is before you authorize. If calls start failing with an authorization error after it worked, click Authorize with Provider again.
No trading: TradingView's server has no trading tools, so nothing here places orders. Results are market data, not investment advice, and the AI treats news stories and filings as untrusted text.
Switched off at install: tradingview_delete_watchlist, tradingview_remove_from_watchlist and tradingview_delete_alert (which also drops the alert's history). Creating watchlists and alerts, adding symbols, renaming, pausing and resuming alerts stay on. Alerts the AI creates notify the account owner, so it asks before creating many. Webhook alerts cannot be created or edited this way.
First calls: symbols are written EXCHANGE:TICKER, for example NASDAQ:AAPL, BINANCE:BTCUSDT or XETR:SAP. When you name a company, the AI starts with tradingview_search_symbols, and tradingview_get_symbol_data_batch reads up to 50 symbols in one call. A 401 or 403 after sign-in usually means the account has no paid plan or the authorization expired.
Step 2 — Install the adapter
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
Step 3 — Add the connector in Cursor
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Cursor reads MCP servers from ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Add this entry:
{
"mcpServers": {
"anythingmcp": {
"url": "https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID",
"headers": { "X-API-Key": "YOUR_MCP_API_KEY" }
}
}
}
- Create an MCP API key in AnythingMCP under MCP Servers → your server → API keys, and paste it in place of
YOUR_MCP_API_KEY. - Save the file and restart Cursor.
- Open Cursor → Settings → MCP and check that
anythingmcpis listed and connected. - Start chatting: the agent can now call the
TradingViewtools.
