Start a free trial on cloud.anythingmcp.com, add the Fireflies.ai in one click, then point your AI client (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot or Cursor) at the generated MCP endpoint. No Docker, no git clone, zero engineering experience required.
Summary
Let your AI work with your Fireflies.ai meeting notes: find recorded meetings, read AI summaries, action items and transcripts, search what was said, ask AskFred about one or many meetings, and with your confirmation send the notetaker bot into a live call or upload a recording.

Fireflies.ai
Let your AI work with your Fireflies.ai meeting notes: find recorded meetings, read AI summaries, action items and transcripts, search what was said, ask AskFred about one or many meetings, and with your confirmation send the notetaker bot into a live call or upload a recording.
Setup
- Sign in at app.fireflies.ai and open Integrations → Fireflies API (
https://app.fireflies.ai/integrations/custom/fireflies), or Settings → Developer settings. Every Fireflies user has an API key, on the Free plan too. - Copy the API key and paste it into
FIREFLIES_API_KEYas Fireflies shows it, without Bearer in front. - Check the setup with
fireflies_get_current_user.
Who sees what: the key acts as its owner, so the connector sees the meetings that user can see in Fireflies. An admin's key sees the meetings of the whole team. Share the MCP server only with people who may see those meetings.
Recordings and transcripts are personal data: they hold what colleagues, customers and other participants said, with names and email addresses. The AI fetches only what your question needs, prefers the AI notes and short summaries over the full text, and does not copy transcripts to other systems unless you ask for it.
How to work: fireflies_list_transcripts finds meetings by date range, organizer, participant, team member or channel, or only your own; fireflies_search_transcripts finds a word or phrase in titles or in what was said. Both page with limit (up to 50) and skip. fireflies_get_transcript reads one meeting with its AI notes (overview, action items, keywords, outline, topics), speakers and attendees. fireflies_get_transcript_text returns what was said, 700 lines at a time; for longer meetings fireflies_get_transcript_text_more adds lines 701 to 1400, and beyond that the AI searches or asks AskFred. Soundbites come from fireflies_list_bites and fireflies_get_bite; the team from fireflies_list_users and fireflies_list_channels; meetings being recorded right now from fireflies_list_active_meetings.
AskFred uses AI credits: fireflies_ask_about_meeting asks Fireflies' assistant about one meeting, fireflies_ask_across_meetings about many (by default the last 30 days, at most one year back), and fireflies_ask_follow_up continues the same thread. Every answer uses AI credits of your Fireflies plan, so the AI tells you before the first question of a conversation and waits for your yes. Earlier conversations are in fireflies_list_askfred_threads and fireflies_get_askfred_thread.
Writes ask first: fireflies_create_bite cuts a soundbite from a meeting that others in your team may see. fireflies_upload_audio sends a recording from a public https link (mp3, mp4, wav, m4a or ogg, audio up to 200 MB) to be transcribed and creates a new meeting in your account. fireflies_add_bot_to_live_meeting sends the Fireflies notetaker into a call that is running now (Zoom, Google Meet, Teams and others); it joins as a visible participant and everyone in the call sees that the meeting is being recorded. The AI tells you that, confirms the meeting link and waits for your yes. In some countries recording needs the consent of everyone in the call; that is your responsibility. Fireflies allows 3 bot requests per 20 minutes per user.
Switched off at install: fireflies_delete_transcript deletes a meeting with its recording, transcript and notes for good, and fireflies_set_user_role makes a team member an admin or a regular user (it needs an admin key). An admin turns them on deliberately.
Any other read: fireflies_graphql_query runs any query of the Fireflies API. Fireflies publishes no schema file, so fireflies_graphql_schema cannot load it; the AI looks types up with an introspection query instead. fireflies_graphql_mutation could change or delete anything the key reaches, so it is switched off at install, like fireflies_graphql_subscription.
Plans and limits: the Free plan allows 30 requests a minute and 500 a day, Pro 60 a minute and 5,000 a day, Business and Enterprise 60 a minute per paid seat for the team. Audio and video links of a meeting need Pro or higher.
Common errors: auth_failed (Fireflies sends it with HTTP 500): the API key is wrong or was replaced by a new one; copy it again from Integrations → Fireflies API. object_not_found: wrong id, or the key's user cannot see that meeting. too_many_requests or HTTP 429: the plan's limit is reached; wait for the time in the message. paid_required: the feature needs a higher Fireflies plan. forbidden or require_elevated_privilege: the key's user may not do this, for example open someone else's meeting without admin rights. require_ai_credits: AskFred has no AI credits left.
The connector does not share meetings or change their privacy, titles or channels, and it does not cover user groups, live action items, pausing a recording, analytics, AI app outputs, contacts, the audit log or webhooks.
