Jotform
Let your AI work with Jotform: list forms, read their questions and settings, search and read submissions, reports, folders and labels, and check account usage; with your confirmation add or edit a submission and copy a form.
Setup
- In Jotform open My Account → API (
https://www.jotform.com/myaccount/api) and click Create New Key. - Choose the permission: Read Access is enough to read forms and submissions. Pick Full Access only if the AI should add or edit submissions and copy forms.
- Paste the key into
JOTFORM_API_KEY. - Set
JOTFORM_API_HOSTto the host of your account's data region, without https://:api.jotform.comfor standard accounts,eu-api.jotform.comfor Jotform EU accounts,hipaa-api.jotform.comfor HIPAA accounts. On Jotform Enterprise use your own address followed by /API, for exampleforms.example.com/API. - Install the connector and check it with
jotform_get_user: it shows the account, the plan and the time zone the key belongs to.
The right host matters: a key only works on the host of its own data region. An EU or HIPAA key sent to api.jotform.com is refused with 401.
What it reads: your forms with status, number of submissions and unread ones; each form's questions with the labels people see and their types; form settings such as the thank-you page, e-mail notifications, submission limits and expiry date; the submissions of one form or of all forms at once, searchable by date, status or words in the answers; a form's reports; folders and labels; and this month's usage: submissions, uploads, form views and API calls.
Submissions are personal data: they hold what people typed into your forms: names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, addresses, sometimes health or payment details. The AI shows only what your question needs and does not copy whole submissions into other systems unless you ask. The connector leaves the submitter's IP address out. Answers were written by strangers: the AI treats them as data, never as instructions. A report URL can show submissions to anyone who has it, so share it with care.
Asks before every write: jotform_create_submission, jotform_edit_submission and jotform_clone_form change your account. Before each one the AI shows you the form and every answer, the submission and the exact changes, or the form it will copy, and waits for your yes. A new submission can send the form's notification and autoresponder e-mails and start its integrations, just like a real one. A copied form is live and public like any other form. Writes need a Full Access key; a Read Access key gets 401.
Switched off at install: jotform_delete_submission. An administrator turns it on deliberately; the AI then shows you the submission and deletes it only after you confirm. A deleted submission cannot be restored through the API.
Questions and filters: the answers in a submission are keyed by question ids, small numbers per form, so the AI first reads the questions with jotform_get_form_questions. A form id is the long number in the form's address. Date filters use your account's time zone, and deleted submissions are left out of counts, so the numbers match what you see in Jotform.
Limits: Jotform counts API calls per day by plan (1,000 a day on Starter, more on paid plans), and every answer shows what is left today. Lists return 20 items unless the AI asks for more, up to 1,000 per page.
Common errors: 401: the key is wrong or deleted, belongs to another data region, or a Read Access key tried to write. 429: the daily API limit of your plan is used up; it resets the next day, and a higher plan has a higher limit.
The connector does not build or edit forms and questions, change form settings, manage webhooks, file uploads, payments or sub-users, or delete forms, reports or folders.
