Monet
Connect MONET, the Lithuanian cloud accounting system, to Claude or ChatGPT: customers and vendors with balances and open items, sales and purchase invoices, items and stock, contracts, and every Monet report (ledger, trial balance, profit and loss, VAT, debts) as CSV. Multi-company logins for accountants.
Setup
Setting up takes about 5 minutes. You need a MONET user (e.monet.lt) that can see the companies the AI should work with, with API access for that user.
- Pick the Monet user the connector signs in as. A separate user for the integration is best: you can limit its rights and change its password without locking anyone out.
- Put the user name you sign in to e.monet.lt with into
MONET_USERNAMEand its password intoMONET_PASSWORD. The password is stored encrypted. - Install the connector and run
monet_get_company: it shows the name and code of the company the login currently works in. - If the same login works in the browser but the connector gets a 401, ask Monet support ([email protected]) to enable API access for that user.
One login, several companies: accountants often reach many companies with one Monet login, and every call works in the login's current company. The AI checks it with monet_get_company, finds another one with monet_list_companies and switches with monet_set_company. Switching changes no accounting data, but it holds for that login everywhere until it is switched again. So the AI tells you which company the figures come from, and a separate integration user keeps colleagues who share a login from landing in the wrong company.
What it reads: customers (klientai) and vendors (tiekėjai) with their short code (trumpinys), company and VAT codes, contacts and terms; the balance and open items of a customer or vendor; sales and purchase invoices in a period, and what is still open on a single invoice; items and services (prekės) with prices, stock per warehouse (sandėlis) and the stock that changed today; sales contracts (sutartys) with their billing schedule; employee work timetables; and the lists behind them: chart of accounts, VAT codes (PVM kodai), dimensions (požymiai), item groups and types, warehouses and currencies.
Every report as CSV: general ledger, trial balance, profit and loss, VAT, customer and vendor debts, stock and fixed assets. The AI first asks monet_get_report_parameters which keys a report takes (for example from, to, periodCode), then runs monet_get_report in CSV. LedgerTransReport, LedgerTrialBalanceReport, ProfitLossReport, CustVendDebtsOnDateReport and InventOnhandByDateReport answer most questions. Report headings follow the interface language of the login.
Switched off at install: every write. That is monet_create_customer, monet_update_customer, monet_create_vendor, monet_update_vendor, monet_create_item, monet_update_item and monet_create_dimension, the delete tools monet_delete_customer, monet_delete_vendor and monet_delete_item, and the invoice tools monet_create_sales_invoice, monet_create_sales_service_invoice, monet_create_purchase_invoice and monet_create_purchase_service_invoice. They change the books: invoices are posted to the ledger unless SkipPost is set, item invoices move stock, and Monet numbers the document itself unless you give an InvoiceId. An administrator turns on only the tools needed, one by one, and even then the AI shows you the record or the invoice lines and totals and waits for your yes. Monet refuses to delete a customer, vendor or item that documents still use.
Limits: lists return up to 300 rows per page, and invoice lists always need a period with a from and a to date. Reports over long periods get very long, so the AI asks for one month at a time.
Common errors: 401 means the user name or password is wrong, or the user has no API access yet. 403 means the user may not read that data: give it rights to the company in Monet, or switch company. An empty list usually means the login is in a different company than you expected.
The connector does not register payments or bank entries, and no tool moves money.
Prerequisites: MONET_USERNAME, MONET_PASSWORD
