ZoomInfo to MCP: B2B Contact and Company Data for any AI Agent

ZoomInfo

Give your AI ZoomInfo B2B data: search contacts and companies by role, seniority, industry, size and location for free, look up the exact filter values ZoomInfo accepts, check your credit usage, and enrich the records you choose with emails, phone numbers and firmographics.

Setup

API access is part of a ZoomInfo GTM.ai plan or of an Enterprise contract with API access; ZoomInfo has no free API tier. The app is created by someone in your company who has that access.

1. Create an app. On GTM.ai self-serve, open the Developer tab at https://gtm-studio.zoominfo.com and choose Create. On an Enterprise contract, sign in to the ZoomInfo Developer Portal at https://developer.zoominfo.com and choose Create App; if you cannot open it, ask your ZoomInfo admin for Developer Portal access.
2. Under authentication choose Client Credentials Flow (server to server) and pick the integration user the calls run as. An app made for the Authorization Code (PKCE) flow does not accept this sign-in and answers unauthorized_client.
3. Select the scopes Contact (api:data:contact), Company (api:data:company) and Lookup (api:data:lookup), then create the app.
4. Paste the Client ID and Client Secret into ZOOMINFO_CLIENT_ID and ZOOMINFO_CLIENT_SECRET and install the connector. It exchanges them for a short-lived token and renews it by itself; the secret is only sent to ZoomInfo.
5. Check the setup with zoominfo_get_usage: it shows your limits and what is left, and uses no credits.

Free: search and lookups: zoominfo_search_contacts, zoominfo_search_companies, zoominfo_lookup_values, zoominfo_list_search_fields, zoominfo_list_enrich_fields and zoominfo_get_usage use no credits; they only count against the rate limits. Contact search results show names, titles, companies and whether an email or phone number exists, never the email or phone number itself.

Enrichment costs credits, so the AI asks first: zoominfo_enrich_contacts and zoominfo_enrich_companies (up to 25 records per call) spend 1 bulk data credit for every record returned that is not already under management in your account. A record stays under management, and free to enrich again, for 12 months after its first enrichment. No match, no charge. Before an enrichment the AI shows you the records it found, tells you the maximum cost (one credit per record) and waits for your yes. It enriches a few chosen records rather than a whole result page.

How it works: the AI first turns your words into ZoomInfo values with zoominfo_lookup_values (industries, management levels, departments, job functions, metro regions, countries, employee counts, revenue ranges), because search rejects free text that is not a known value. Then it searches, shows you the matches and enriches only the ones you pick, with just the output fields you need. zoominfo_list_enrich_fields shows which fields your plan includes.

Personal data, B2B use only: contact records describe real people: names, job titles, employers, business emails, direct and mobile phone numbers. Use them only for a legitimate business purpose you can justify, such as B2B sales or recruiting under legitimate interest, in line with the GDPR, CAN-SPAM and ZoomInfo's terms. Keep only what you need, respect the Do Not Call flags and the EU flag on each record, and do not build mass mailing lists or look up private individuals. The connector gives the AI the same rules.

Paging and rate limits: searches return up to 100 records per page and at most 100 pages. ZoomInfo allows 5 to 35 requests a second per tenant plus hourly and daily caps, depending on your package. A 429 means waiting for the seconds ZoomInfo gives in Retry-After.

Common errors: 400 unauthorized_client at sign-in: the client ID is unknown, or the app was not made for the client credentials flow. 401 ZI0001: the token is invalid; if it persists, check the client secret. 403 ZI0002: the app lacks the scope for this call. 403 ZI0003: your contract does not include this endpoint or API access. 400 PFAPI0006: a filter value ZoomInfo does not know. 400 PFAPI0001 or PFAPI0009: an output field your plan does not include, or a misspelled one. 400 PFAPI0011: your credit limit is reached; ask your ZoomInfo admin.

The connector never changes data in ZoomInfo. It does not cover intent, scoops and news, org charts, corporate hierarchy, technologies, lookalikes, audiences, webhooks, or the legacy Enterprise API with username and password.
