Step-by-step setup for the most popular AI clients.

Setting up Billomat Invoicing

From the connector definition itself: where to find the credentials, what they need to be allowed to do, and which API this adapter talks to.

Billomat is a German online invoicing and bookkeeping service. This connector reads clients, invoices, offers (estimates, Angebote) and articles through the Billomat REST API. Every tool is read-only.

Getting credentials

  1. API access is switched on per user: in Billomat open Settings → Employees (Einstellungen → Mitarbeiter), edit the user and activate API access. Billomat then generates a personal API key; copy it into BILLOMAT_API_KEY. The key acts with that user's rights.
  2. Set BILLOMAT_SUBDOMAIN to your Billomat ID, the first part of your account address: for mycompany.billomat.net, enter mycompany. Requests go to https://mycompany.billomat.net/api with the key in the X-BillomatApiKey header.

Finding records: get tools take Billomat's internal numeric id, not the document number (RE123) or client number (KD123). List clients first (name matches part of the name, case-insensitive) and pass their id as client_id to filter invoices and offers.

Status values: invoices are DRAFT, OPEN, OVERDUE, PAID or CANCELED; several can be combined with commas, e.g. OPEN,OVERDUE for everything unpaid. Offers are DRAFT, OPEN, WON, LOST, CANCELED or CLEARED. Booleans are 1 and 0, dates YYYY-MM-DD, timestamps ISO 8601 with offset.

Reading responses: lists are wrapped, e.g. {"invoices": {"invoice": [...], "@page": "1", "@per_page": "100", "@total": "57"}}. When exactly one record matches, invoice can be a single object instead of an array. billomat_get_invoice returns the header with total_net, total_gross, taxes, paid_amount and open_amount; line items, comments and payments are separate Billomat resources that this adapter does not read.

Pagination and limits: page starts at 1; per_page defaults to 100 and allows up to 1000. Keep paging while page × per_page is below @total. Billomat allows 300 requests per account per 15-minute window (XX:00, XX:15, XX:30, XX:45) for clients that are not registered as an app, and this adapter is not; the quota is shared with every other unregistered integration on the account. Over the quota, Billomat answers HTTP 429 and says how many seconds to wait.

Cloud reachability: *.billomat.net is publicly reachable over HTTPS.
