Guides for Monet

Step-by-step setup for the most popular AI clients.

Setting up Monet

From the connector definition itself: where to find the credentials, what they need to be allowed to do, and which API this adapter talks to.

Monet

This connector uses the Monet API (MonetServices2, version 2) of MONET, the Lithuanian cloud accounting system at e.monet.lt: companies, customers and vendors with their balances and open items, sales and purchase invoices, items and stock on hand, contracts, employee timetables, and every Monet report (general ledger, trial balance, profit and loss, VAT, debts, stock, fixed assets) as CSV or HTML.

Setup (about 5 minutes)

  1. Use a Monet user that may see the companies the assistant should work with. A separate user for the integration is best, so its rights can be limited and its password changed without locking anyone out.
  2. Put the user name in MONET_USERNAME and the password in MONET_PASSWORD. The connector signs every call with HTTP Basic authentication against https://e.monet.lt/DesktopModules/MonetServices2/API/V2.
  3. If the login works in the browser but the API answers 401, ask Monet support ([email protected]) to enable API access for the user.

Several companies (accountants): one Monet login can serve several companies, and every call works in the login's current company. Call monet_get_company first; to work in another company, find it with monet_list_companies and switch with monet_set_company. The switch holds for this login everywhere until it is switched again, so tell the user which company you are in before reporting figures, and switch back if others share the login.

Reading data

  • Lists page with _page (from 0) and _size (up to 300). Customers, vendors and invoices are searched by short code (trumpinys), number or name.
  • Invoice lists need a period: _from and _to as YYYY-MM-DD.
  • Balances and open items take the customer's or vendor's short code (_accountNum), as shown by the lists.
  • Reports: call monet_get_report_parameters with the report name to learn its keys (for example from, to, ledger, periodCode, date, itemGroup), then monet_get_report with format CSV and parameters as [{"key": "from", "values": ["2026-01-01"]}, ...]. LedgerTransReport, LedgerTrialBalanceReport, ProfitLossReport, CustVendDebtsOnDateReport and InventOnhandByDateReport answer most questions. Large periods give long reports: prefer a month at a time.

Writing: creating and changing customers, vendors and items, adding dimensions and entering sales and purchase invoices are installed switched off. Turn on only what you need, per tool. Invoice tools post to the ledger unless SkipPost is true, and Monet numbers documents itself unless InvoiceId is given. The connector does not register payments or bank entries.

Errors: 401 means the user name or password is wrong or the user has no API access; an empty list usually means the login is in a different company than expected.
