Setting up SAP Signavio Process Manager
From the connector definition itself: where to find the credentials, what they need to be allowed to do, and which API this adapter talks to.
What this connects to: the SAP Signavio Process Manager API, the /p/ interface of the Process Manager workspace host. It reads the process landscape: folders, process models and their revisions, model exports (Signavio JSON and BPMN 2.0 XML), full-text search and the dictionary. This first version only reads.
Start with sap_signavio_list_root_directories, then sap_signavio_get_directory to walk folders, or sap_signavio_search to find a model by name or content. Read a model with sap_signavio_get_model_info and sap_signavio_export_model_json.
Host by region: EU https://editor.signavio.com, US https://app-us.signavio.com, Australia https://app-au.signavio.com, Canada https://app-ca.signavio.com, Japan https://app-jp.signavio.com, Singapore https://app-sgp.signavio.com, South Korea https://app-kr.signavio.com. It is the host you see in the browser when you open Process Manager. SAP's current API guide also publishes the same resources on the regional gateway (https://api.<region>.signavio.cloud.sap/spm/v1, login at /auth/v1/token); this connector uses the workspace host's /p/ interface, which answers the same requests in every region.
Authentication: the API has no API keys. The connector logs in with POST /p/login (email, password, tokenonly=true, workspace id) and sends the returned token as x-signavio-id together with every cookie the login set (the JSESSIONID session cookie and the load-balancer cookie that keeps calls on the same node) on every call; it logs in again when the session ends. Use a technical user with only the API Edition licence (free; ask SAP Support if the workspace has none): it logs in with its SAP Signavio password even when the workspace uses single sign-on, but cannot use the web interface. Any other licence consumes a paid seat. The workspace ID is required: Help menu > Workspace information. The user only sees what its folder permissions allow.
Ids: every item comes as {rel, href, rep}. The id is the last segment of href (/directory/<id>, /model/<id>, /revision/<id>, /glossary/<id>). rel says what the item is: dir folder, mod model, info metadata, rev revision, gitem dictionary entry.
Paging: search and dictionary lists take limit and offset (search returns at most 250 results per call, the dictionary at most 1,000). Folder listings return the whole folder.
Rate limit: SAP allows 50 requests per 60 seconds and 5 parallel reads per workspace; walk large folder trees step by step.
Pitfalls: model JSON of large diagrams is big, so prefer get_model_info first and export only the models you need. A 401 means the login failed or the session ended twice in a row; a 403 means the user lacks access to that folder. Process Intelligence (SIGNAL OData) and Process Governance use separate APIs and tokens and are not covered.
