monday.com
This connector works with one monday.com account through the GraphQL API (https://api.monday.com/v2, API version 2026-07 sent in the API-Version header): workspaces, boards with their groups and columns, items with column values, updates (comments) and users. It can create items and groups, change column values, move items and post updates. It authenticates with your personal API token, so it sees and does exactly what you can in monday.com.
Setup (about 2 minutes)
- In monday.com click your profile picture (top right) and choose Developers; the Developer Center opens in a new tab.
- Open API token (called My access tokens in older menus), click Show and copy the token. Account admins also find it under Administration → Connections → Personal API token.
- Paste it into
MONDAY_API_TOKEN. It is sent as is in theAuthorizationheader, without the word Bearer. - Regenerating the token in the same place invalidates the old one immediately.
Read-only setup: personal tokens carry all of the user's permissions and cannot be limited. Give the token's user only the board access it needs, and switch off monday_create_item, monday_change_column_values, monday_move_item_to_group, monday_create_group, monday_create_update and the generic monday_graphql_mutation. monday_archive_item is installed switched off.
Workflow: monday_list_boards (or monday_list_workspaces first), then monday_get_board for the board's groups and columns. Column ids (status, date4, person) and the status labels in each column's settings are what filters and writes need. monday_get_items_page reads items; monday_get_items reads specific items from any board.
Ids and values: board, item, user and update ids are numbers sent as strings; group ids are strings such as topics. column_values returns text (what the user sees) and value (raw JSON). Writes take a JSON string keyed by column id: status {"label": "Done"}, date {"date": "2026-10-15"}, people {"personsAndTeams": [{"id": 123, "kind": "person"}]}, text and numbers a plain string, item name via the name column.
Pagination: monday_get_items_page returns up to 500 items and a cursor; pass it to monday_next_items_page until the cursor is null. A cursor expires 60 minutes after the first request. Boards, users and workspaces page with limit and page; an empty page means the end. Updates page with their own cursor.
Rate limits: personal tokens share a budget of 10,000,000 complexity points per minute (1,000,000 on free and trial accounts), and accounts have a daily call limit (1,000 on Free, Basic and Standard, 10,000 on Pro, 25,000 on Enterprise) plus 1,000 to 5,000 requests per minute by plan. Over a limit the error carries retry_in_seconds; wait that long.
Errors: monday answers HTTP 200 with an errors array for most failures; the connector reports them as errors. Not Authenticated or 401: the token is wrong or was regenerated. UserUnauthorizedException: no access to that board or item. InvalidColumnIdException, ColumnValueException: wrong column id or value format; check monday_get_board. ComplexityException, DAILY_LIMIT_EXCEEDED, Minute limit rate exceeded: wait and use smaller pages.
Other operations: monday_graphql_schema and monday_graphql_query reach anything else in the API, such as docs, dashboards or activity logs.
