This connector uses the Pexels API (https://api.pexels.com/v1): search and browse free stock photos and videos, curated and popular media, and collections. It is read-only.
Setup
Sign in at pexels.com, open Image & Video API (https://www.pexels.com/api/new/), fill in the short form about your use and copy the key into PEXELS_API_KEY. The key is sent as Authorization: <key>, without the word Bearer.
Start here
pexels_search_photos or pexels_search_videos with a query. Each photo has src with ready-made sizes (original, large2x, large, medium, small, portrait, landscape, tiny), photographer, photographer_url, url (the Pexels page) and alt. Each video has video_files (one per resolution, with quality, width, height and link) and video_pictures.
Filters
orientation landscape, portrait or square; size large, medium or small (minimum size); photo color as a name (red, blue, black, white, ...) or a hex code; locale such as en-US or de-DE for searching in another language. Popular videos filter by min_width, min_height, min_duration, max_duration.
Paging and limits
page starts at 1, per_page is 15 by default and at most 80. Answers carry total_results and next_page (missing on the last page). The default limit is 200 requests per hour and 20,000 per month per key; above it Pexels answers 429. Pexels raises limits for free on request if you attribute properly.
Attribution
Pexels asks every app to show a visible link to Pexels and, where possible, to credit the photographer: "Photo by <photographer> on Pexels", linking photographer_url and url. Use the media URLs from the answers rather than re-hosting at scale; the API may not be used to build a wallpaper app or a copy of Pexels.
Ids
Photo and video ids are integers; collection ids are short strings (the last part of a pexels.com/collections/ URL). pexels_get_collection_media reads only featured collections and the collections of the account that created the key; any other collection answers 404, even a public one.
