Best Claude Connectors for Business (2026)

The short answer

A Claude connector gives Claude access to another app: it can look things up there and, if the connector allows it, take actions. Under the hood a connector is a remote MCP server (Model Context Protocol), a web address Claude calls whenever it needs a tool.

There are two kinds:

• Directory connectors. Anthropic keeps a directory of connectors it has reviewed, from Gmail, Google Drive and Google Calendar to Microsoft 365, Slack and Notion. In Claude you find it under Customize > Connectors, then the + next to Connectors. You pick one and sign in.
• Custom connectors. For anything that isn't in the directory, you paste the URL of a remote MCP server yourself (Customize > Connectors > + > "Add custom connector"). Custom connectors work on every Claude plan, but the Free plan is limited to one.

So the rule of thumb is simple. If the vendor has a connector in the directory, use that. You need a custom connector when the system you work with isn't there: your ERP, your accounting software, your shop back-end, a database, or an internal tool only your company uses.

Already in Claude's directory: check there first

When we checked in September 2026, the Claude connector directory included connectors from the vendors themselves for Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Microsoft 365, Slack, Notion, Asana, Atlassian (Jira and Confluence), Linear, HubSpot, Salesforce (beta), Shopify, Stripe, Amazon Selling Partner, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Attio, Xero, Tally, TickTick, Todoist, Trello, ClickUp and Sentry. The directory grows every month, so look there before you build anything.

AnythingMCP also has connectors for some of these, for example Amazon Seller Central, Pipedrive, Tally and TickTick. They are mainly useful if you self-host, or if you want those tools behind the same endpoint, user roles and audit log as your other systems. Otherwise the vendor's own connector is the simpler choice.

How we picked the connectors below

Every entry is a ready-made connector in the AnythingMCP catalogue that you add to Claude as a custom connector. None of these systems had a connector from its own vendor in Claude's directory when we checked (September 2026); where there is something related, we say so. Claude can only do what the connector's tools allow, so we note when a connector only reads data.

Accounting and finance

DATEV

Claude reads your Mandanten (clients), their document types and the DATEV Unternehmen online version information through DATEV's official Online APIs. It is read-only, and you need an app registered with the DATEV developer portal plus a DATEV account to sign in. Connect DATEV to Claude

How to add any of these to Claude

1. Sign up for AnythingMCP Cloud (hosted in Frankfurt, 7-day free trial) or run AnythingMCP yourself with Docker.
2. Install the connector from the marketplace and enter the credentials for that system. They are stored encrypted.
3. Add the connector to an MCP server in AnythingMCP and copy the server's URL. One server can bundle several connectors behind a single URL, which helps on Claude's Free plan with its one custom connector.
4. In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors, click +, then "Add custom connector", paste the URL and click "Add". Sign in when Claude asks.

On Team and Enterprise plans only an owner can add a custom connector, under Organization settings > Connectors; members then connect it for themselves. If your system isn't on this list, you can build the connector yourself without writing code. FAQ

Are Claude connectors free?

Connectors are available on every Claude plan, including Free, but the Free plan allows only one custom connector. The service behind a connector may need its own subscription or API access. AnythingMCP is open source and free to self-host; AnythingMCP Cloud is paid after a 7-day free trial.

What is the difference between a Claude connector and an MCP server?

An MCP server is the service that exposes tools over the Model Context Protocol. A connector is how Claude uses one: a directory connector points at an MCP server the vendor runs, and a custom connector points at an MCP server URL you enter yourself.

Can Claude connect to a system inside my company network?

Not directly. Claude calls connectors from Anthropic's cloud, so the MCP server has to be reachable from the internet, or your firewall has to allow Anthropic's IP ranges. A common setup is to run AnythingMCP where it can reach the internal system and expose only its MCP endpoint.

Which of these connectors can change data?

Most of them only read. The ones that can write are noted in each entry, for example creating invoices in Lexware Office, sales orders in SAP Business One, updating stock in WooCommerce or sending WhatsApp messages. In AnythingMCP you can also switch off single tools and decide which users may call them.
