Exercise.com + Gemini

Exercise.com gym and coaching software: members and staff, appointments and classes, scheduled occurrences and rosters, visits and check-ins, calendar, services, locations, availability schedules, waitlists, assessments, groups and logged workouts. Tenant API v4 on your own platform host.

Prerequisites

See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:

Step 1 — Get credentials

The connector reads the Exercise.com tenant API v4 on your own platform host and can book and cancel visits. API access is a paid add-on: your Exercise.com account representative has to enable it first.

1. Put your platform host, without https:// or a path, into EXERCISE_HOST (for example train.yourgym.com).
2. Create an API key under Account > Customize Platform > Developers > Add and copy it at once; it is shown only once. Paste it into EXERCISE_API_KEY (sent as the API-TOKEN header).
3. Put the bearer token of the account the API acts as into EXERCISE_ACCESS_TOKEN, without the word Bearer: a Personal API Token issued in the product, or the token provided with API access. Use a token of the owner or an admin to see every member. Schedules, assessment templates and logged workouts answer 401 unless both credentials are set.
4. Start with exercise_com_list_users for member and staff ids, then exercise_com_get_calendar with affinity=schedule and a Unix-time window for bookings.

Things to know:

• exercise_com_list_appointments needs a date window in filter (q[start_time_gteq] and q[start_time_lt]); over the whole history it fails with HTTP 500.
• Filters are Ransack predicates such as q[status_eq]=completed. Paging uses per and page (from 1); without them some lists return everything.
• 401 Access denied means a wrong host, a wrong or revoked token, or API access not enabled.
• Packages, invoices and charges are not part of the v4 tenant API, so this connector does not cover them.
• exercise_com_book_visit can charge the member or use one of their packages, and exercise_com_cancel_visit may apply late-cancel fees and notify the member.

Step 2 — Install the adapter

Step 3 — Add the connector in Gemini

Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide shows YOUR_SERVER_ID.

Gemini CLI reads MCP servers from ~/.gemini/settings.json (on Windows %USERPROFILE%\.gemini\settings.json). Add:

1. Create an MCP API key in AnythingMCP under MCP Servers → your server → API keys, and paste it in place of YOUR_MCP_API_KEY.
2. Save the file and restart gemini.
3. Run /mcp inside Gemini CLI (or gemini mcp list in your shell) — anythingmcp should show as connected.
4. Start prompting — Gemini CLI can now call the Exercise.com tools.
