Inoreader + Claude
Inoreader RSS reader: subscriptions, folders and tags, unread counts, articles of any feed, folder or tag with paging, and marking articles read, unread or starred. Inoreader API with OAuth 2.0.
Prerequisites
See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:
INOREADER_APP_ID, INOREADER_APP_KEY
Step 1 — Get credentials
The connector uses the Inoreader API with OAuth 2.0. The Inoreader account needs a paid plan: the Free plan has no API access.
- In your Inoreader preferences open the developer section and click Create new application.
- Set the OAuth redirect URI to
<your AnythingMCP URL>/api/mcp-oauth/callback(on AnythingMCP Cloud:https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/api/mcp-oauth/callback) and the scope to read and write. - Copy the App ID (a number) into
INOREADER_APP_IDand the App Key intoINOREADER_APP_KEY, install the connector, then click Authorize with Provider and sign in to Inoreader. The connector stores the refresh token and renews access tokens itself. - Start with
inoreader_get_unread_countsorinoreader_list_tags, theninoreader_get_stream_contentson a folder withxt=user/-/state/com.google/readto get unread articles only.
Each app has two daily quotas, one for reads and one for writes, by default around 100 requests a day each; you can ask for more in the app settings. Over the limit Inoreader answers 429 until the reset, so prefer inoreader_get_unread_counts and inoreader_list_item_ids to repeated full article reads. inoreader_mark_all_as_read affects a whole stream: confirm with the user first. Subscribing and unsubscribing feeds is not offered.
Step 2 — Install the adapter
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
Step 3 — Add the connector in Claude
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Recommended path — works on claude.ai web without editing any config file.
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors.
- Click +, then Add custom connector.
- Enter a name, e.g.
Inoreader, and the remote MCP server URLhttps://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID, then click Add. - Click Connect and sign in to AnythingMCP (OAuth) to allow access.
