Inoreader

Inoreader RSS reader: subscriptions, folders and tags, unread counts, articles of any feed, folder or tag with paging, and marking articles read, unread or starred. Inoreader API with OAuth 2.0.

Setup

The connector uses the Inoreader API with OAuth 2.0. The Inoreader account needs a paid plan: the Free plan has no API access.

  1. In your Inoreader preferences open the developer section and click Create new application.
  2. Set the OAuth redirect URI to <your AnythingMCP URL>/api/mcp-oauth/callback (on AnythingMCP Cloud: https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/api/mcp-oauth/callback) and the scope to read and write.
  3. Copy the App ID (a number) into INOREADER_APP_ID and the App Key into INOREADER_APP_KEY, install the connector, then click Authorize with Provider and sign in to Inoreader. The connector stores the refresh token and renews access tokens itself.
  4. Start with inoreader_get_unread_counts or inoreader_list_tags, then inoreader_get_stream_contents on a folder with xt = user/-/state/com.google/read to get unread articles only.

Each app has two daily quotas, one for reads and one for writes, by default around 100 requests a day each; you can ask for more in the app settings. Over the limit Inoreader answers 429 until the reset, so prefer inoreader_get_unread_counts and inoreader_list_item_ids to repeated full article reads. inoreader_mark_all_as_read affects a whole stream: confirm with the user first. Subscribing and unsubscribing feeds is not offered.

Prerequisites: INOREADER_APP_ID, INOREADER_APP_KEY

docker compose up -d

Open http://localhost:3000/connectors/store, pick Inoreader and paste in the env vars listed under Prerequisites.

inoreader_get_user_infoGet the signed-in Inoreader user: user id, user name, email and sign-up time
inoreader_list_subscriptionsList the feeds the user follows: feed id (feed/<url>), title, folders (categories), feed URL, website URL and icon
inoreader_list_tagsList the user's folders, tags and saved searches with their type and, by default, unread and unseen counts
inoreader_get_unread_countsGet unread article counts for every feed, folder and tag, with the timestamp of the newest article

inoreader_list_item_idsList only article ids (with their folders and timestamps) for a stream, up to 1000 per call
inoreader_edit_item_tagsAdd or remove a state or tag on articles: mark read or unread, star or unstar, apply or remove a tag
inoreader_mark_all_as_readMark every article in a feed, folder or tag as read, up to a timestamp so newer articles the user has not seen stay unread
