Prerequisites
See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:
PANCAKE_PAGE_ID, PANCAKE_PAGE_ACCESS_TOKEN
Step 1 — Get credentials
Setting up takes about 2 minutes. You need a Pancake account with access to the page you want to connect: the connector uses the page id and that page's Page Access Token.
- Sign in at https://pages.fm and open the page you want to connect.
- Go to Settings → Tools (in Vietnamese Cài đặt → Công cụ) and copy the Page Access Token into
PANCAKE_PAGE_ACCESS_TOKEN. Paste only the token, withoutpage_access_token=in front. - Put the page id into
PANCAKE_PAGE_ID: the part after pages.fm/ in the page's address, e.g.256469571178082. Pages of other channels keep their prefix, e.g.waba_102952029333366. - Install the connector and run
pancake_list_tags: it lists the page's tags and shows that the token and the page id belong together.
One install per page: Pancake gathers a page's Facebook, Instagram, Zalo, WhatsApp, TikTok and other channels in one inbox, but every page connected in Pancake has its own id and token. To work with several pages, install the connector once per page. The token stays valid until it is regenerated in Pancake, and it is sent as the page_access_token query parameter, the only way Pancake accepts it, and only to pages.fm.
What it reads: the page's conversations, 60 at a time and most recently updated first: private messages, comments under posts and livestream comments, with snippet, read state, customer, tags, assigned staff and phone numbers. Then the messages of one conversation, 30 at a time, with attachments; the page's tags; the staff with their online status; customers with name, gender, birthday, phone numbers, emails and notes; posts with comment count, likes and phone numbers collected; and statistics for the page (per hour), the staff and the tags.
Always a time window: customers, posts, page statistics and tag statistics are read for a window with a start and an end (since and until), and several endpoints accept at most about one month at a time. Ask for this week or for September and the AI works out the window. Staff statistics use a date range in the page's own time zone (UTC+7 for a page in Vietnam); times in the answers come back in UTC.
Asks before changing a customer: before pancake_update_customer (name, gender, birthday or phone numbers; a new phone list replaces the old one) the AI shows you what will change and waits for your yes. pancake_tag_conversation, pancake_assign_conversation, pancake_mark_conversation_read, pancake_mark_conversation_unread and pancake_add_customer_note only change the shared inbox: the customer does not see tags, assignments, read state or notes, and the AI uses them when you ask for them.
Switched off at install: pancake_send_message, pancake_reply_comment and pancake_send_private_reply. They write to the customer: a message in the inbox, a public reply under a comment that everyone who sees the post can read, or a private Messenger message to the author of a comment, up to 7 days after the comment. An administrator turns them on deliberately, and even then the AI shows you the exact text and waits for your yes. Channel rules apply: Facebook and Instagram only allow free replies within 24 hours of the customer's last message.
Limits: Pancake allows 5 requests a second per page. A 429 means slow down and try again after a moment.
Common errors: Pancake answers most errors with HTTP 200 and success false; the connector turns them into errors. Invalid access_token (error 102) means the token is wrong, was regenerated, or belongs to another page than PANCAKE_PAGE_ID. 403 means your role on the page does not allow the action; statistics need a role on the page that may view reports.
The connector does not list your pages or generate page tokens, upload media or send images, send WhatsApp template messages, edit or delete notes, change round-robin settings, or work with ads, call logs, data exports, the chat plugin, webhooks or Pancake POS (orders, products and stock).
Step 2 — Install the adapter
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
Step 3 — Add the connector in Cursor
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Cursor reads MCP servers from ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Add this entry:
{
"mcpServers": {
"anythingmcp": {
"url": "https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID",
"headers": { "X-API-Key": "YOUR_MCP_API_KEY" }
}
}
}
- Create an MCP API key in AnythingMCP under MCP Servers → your server → API keys, and paste it in place of
YOUR_MCP_API_KEY. - Save the file and restart Cursor.
- Open Cursor → Settings → MCP and check that
anythingmcpis listed and connected. - Start chatting: the agent can now call the
Pancaketools.
