Finnhub

This connector reads the Finnhub Stock API (https://finnhub.io/api/v1) with your own key: quotes, company profiles and key figures, company and market news, analyst recommendations, earnings, IPO calendars, insider transactions, SEC filings and reported financials, market status, and the symbol lists of forex and crypto exchanges. Read-only: it places no orders and moves no money.

Setup (about 1 minute)

1. Sign up at https://finnhub.io/register (free) and copy the API key from the dashboard (https://finnhub.io/dashboard).
2. Paste it into FINNHUB_API_KEY. It is sent in the X-Finnhub-Token header, never in the URL.

Free plan: 60 calls a minute and 30 a second. Every tool here works on it except finnhub_get_stock_candles (price history), which needs a paid plan and answers 403 on free keys. Some data is shorter on free keys: company news one year back, earnings surprises the last 4 quarters, the earnings calendar one month back. Real-time quotes cover US stocks; other markets need a paid plan.

How to work

• Resolve the ticker first with finnhub_search_symbols (US tickers are plain, e.g. AAPL; other exchanges have a suffix, e.g. SAP.DE, VOD.L).
• Forex and crypto quotes use the exchange symbol: list providers with finnhub_list_forex_exchanges / finnhub_list_crypto_exchanges, then their pairs, and pass e.g. OANDA:EUR_USD or BINANCE:BTCUSDT to finnhub_get_quote.
• Quote fields are short: c current, d change, dp percent change, h high, l low, o open, pc previous close, t time in Unix seconds. Market capitalisation and shares outstanding in profiles are in millions.
• Dates are YYYY-MM-DD; candles take Unix seconds.
• Errors: 401 means the key is wrong; 403 "You don't have access to this resource" means the data is not on your plan; 429 means the per-minute limit was reached.
