Setting up SportMonks Football
From the connector definition itself: where to find the credentials, what they need to be allowed to do, and which API this adapter talks to.
SportMonks Football
This connector reads the SportMonks Football API v3 (https://api.sportmonks.com/v3): leagues and seasons, fixtures and results, livescores, standings, top scorers, teams and squads, players, venues, pre-match odds and predictions. Every tool only reads.
Setup. Sign in at https://my.sportmonks.com, open API, create an API token and paste it into SPORTMONKS_API_TOKEN. It is sent in the Authorization header. A free plan exists (a few leagues); paid plans add leagues and add-ons such as odds and predictions.
Plan coverage. Data outside your plan does not raise an error: the answer is empty with the message "No result(s) found ... you don't have access to it via your current subscription". Call sportmonks_list_my_leagues first and work with those leagues. Odds and predictions need the matching add-on.
Includes. Base answers only carry ids. Ask for related data with include, separated by semicolons and nested with dots: participants;scores;state;events.type;lineups.player. Ids such as type_id, state_id or position_id are explained by adding .type (or state, position) to the include, or by sportmonks_list_types. Each tool lists useful includes. Keep includes to what you need: they make answers much larger.
Filters, fields and paging. filters takes SportMonks filters separated by semicolons, e.g. fixtureLeagues:9 on fixture lists, eventTypes:14,15 on events, markets:1;bookmakers:2 on odds (sportmonks_get_prematch_odds), seasonTopscorerTypes:208 on top scorers. select returns only the fields you list. Lists are paged (per_page up to 50); when pagination.has_more is true, call again with the next page.
Ids. League ids: 8 Premier League, 9 Championship, 82 Bundesliga, 384 Serie A, 564 LaLiga, 301 Ligue 1, 2 Champions League. The standings, top scorer and squad tools take a season id: get it from sportmonks_get_league with include currentSeason. Fixture lists give fixture ids for the match, odds and prediction tools. For one market of a fixture use sportmonks_get_prematch_odds_by_market (market ids from sportmonks_list_odds_markets), for one bookmaker sportmonks_get_prematch_odds_by_bookmaker (ids from sportmonks_list_bookmakers); both are smaller than the full odds list. Teams and players: use the search tools.
Reading the data. Times are UTC unless you pass timezone. result_info is a sentence such as "Arsenal won after full-time."; scores are in the scores include (description CURRENT is the latest score). Odds values are decimal.
Rate limit. 3,000 calls per hour per entity (fixtures, teams, players ...). Every answer carries rate_limit.remaining and resets_in_seconds; on 429 wait until the reset. Prefer one list call with a filter over many single calls.
