Superchat + Cursor
Superchat shared inbox for WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, SMS, Telegram, live chat and e-mail: conversations and their messages, contacts, templates, files, labels and users, plus sending messages and WhatsApp templates.
Prerequisites
See the full setup instructions baked into the connector (visible in the in-app store when you select the connector). The required environment variables for this connector are:
SUPERCHAT_API_KEY
Step 1 — Get credentials
- In Superchat, open Settings → Integrations → API (https://app.superchat.de/settings/integrations). Only administrators of the workspace see the key.
- Put the key in
SUPERCHAT_API_KEY; it is sent in theX-API-KEYheader. The key has full read and write access to the workspace, so every user of this server can read all conversations. - Call
superchat_get_meto check the key. To read a customer's thread, callsuperchat_search_contacts(e-mail, phone number in E.164 format, or Instagram username), thensuperchat_list_contact_conversations, thensuperchat_list_conversation_messages.
The send tools (superchat_send_message, superchat_send_template, superchat_send_email) reach customers, cannot be undone and are installed switched off. Meta's rules apply: on WhatsApp, free text is only delivered within 24 hours of the contact's last message, otherwise send an approved template with superchat_send_template (billed by Meta); on Instagram and Facebook you can only reply, within 7 days. A workspace may make 2500 requests per 5 minutes across all its keys; above that Superchat answers 429.
Step 2 — Install the adapter
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml -o docker-compose.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
Step 3 — Add the connector in Cursor
Your server URL: in AnythingMCP, open MCP Servers → the server this connector is on, and copy its URL (
https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/…). Use it wherever this guide showsYOUR_SERVER_ID.
Cursor reads MCP servers from ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Add this entry:
{
"mcpServers": {
"anythingmcp": {
"url": "https://cloud.anythingmcp.com/mcp/YOUR_SERVER_ID",
"headers": { "X-API-Key": "YOUR_MCP_API_KEY" }
}
}
}
- Create an MCP API key in AnythingMCP under MCP Servers → your server → API keys, and paste it in place of
YOUR_MCP_API_KEY. - Save the file and restart Cursor.
- Open Cursor → Settings → MCP and check that
anythingmcpis listed and connected. - Start chatting — the agent can now call the
Superchattools.
