TallyPrime
This connector reads a TallyPrime installation (Tally Solutions) through its built-in XML over HTTP interface: companies, ledgers, groups, voucher types, stock items, Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, Day Book, ledger statements and outstanding receivables and payables. Version 1 is read-only: no voucher or master is created or changed.
Setup
- In TallyPrime press F1 (Help) > Settings > Connectivity > Client/Server configuration (in older releases Exchange > Data Synchronization). Set TallyPrime acts as to Server (or Both), enable ODBC, keep the port (default 9000) and accept. Restart TallyPrime if asked.
- Open (load) the companies you want to read. The HTTP interface only sees companies that are open in the running TallyPrime.
- Put the address in
TALLY_URL, e.g.http://192.168.1.20:9000. Opening that address in a browser on the same network shows a short "TallyPrime Server is Running" text.
Network
TallyPrime runs on the customer's own computer or server, so AnythingMCP must be able to reach it. AnythingMCP Cloud cannot reach a LAN address (192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x): run a self-hosted AnythingMCP on the same network and add the host to SSRF_ALLOWED_HOSTS, or publish the port through a secure tunnel or VPN. The Tally port has no password: anyone who can reach it can read and import data, so never open it to the internet without access control in front of it.
How the tools work
Every tool POSTs an XML request (TALLYREQUEST Export) to the root of the server. Masters come from TDL collections (clean objects: LEDGER, STOCKITEM, GROUP with their fields); reports come back in Tally's display format, where each row is a pair of tags, e.g. DSPACCNAME/DSPDISPNAME (name) followed by DSPACCINFO with DSPCLDRAMTA (closing debit, negative) and DSPCLCRAMTA (closing credit). After parsing, these are parallel lists: the n-th name belongs to the n-th amount row. Amounts use Tally's sign convention: debit negative, credit positive.
Values
- Company: every tool except
tallyprime_list_companiesneeds the exact company name. Start withtallyprime_list_companies. - Dates are YYYYMMDD (
20250401). Indian financial years run 1 April to 31 March; outside the company's books Tally returns an empty report. - Names of ledgers, groups and voucher types must match exactly. Pass them as they appear in TallyPrime (for example
Sharma & Sons): the connector escapes them for the XML request. - An error such as "Could not set SVCurrentCompany" means the company is not open in TallyPrime or the name differs.
- When Tally answers with
<STATUS>0</STATUS>(its documented failure flag), the connector reports the call as an error with Tally's text.
Where to start
tallyprime_list_companies, then tallyprime_get_trial_balance for an overview, tallyprime_get_bills_receivable for who owes money, tallyprime_get_ledger_vouchers for one party's statement, and tallyprime_get_day_book for the vouchers of a short period. Large reports over a long period can take several seconds and return a lot of data: keep ranges to a month where possible.
